An excellent value, the American Painter by Loew Cornell is a legend among artists from coast to coast. Starting with the finest blend of double-filament, dyed synthetic golden Taklon hair, each brush is made by hand to work flawlessly, allowing the artist a high degree of control and maximum dexterity.
The hair is firm enough to work well with heavy body paints and is blended with soft hair as well to facilitate excellent shaping to a square edge or a pointed round. Use with any medium — especially recommended for use with acrylics and watercolors.
Designed for use in decorative painting, ceramics, fabric arts and crafts. These brushes feature lacquered wood handles and seamless aluminum ferrules.

I LOVE These Not-So-Pricey Brushes!!
By LG the Painter

Comments about Loew-Cornell Loew Cornell American Painter Brushes:
Retired and restarting my love of making art, especially watercoloring, I have a tight budget and these wonderful brushes are more than I had expected! No sheared tips, as many other modern brushes have. You can gently spread the tips from fine to full width with no stragglers!!! Thank you Blick's for a fine budget watercolor brush!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My favorite brushes ever.
from Pickens, SC
I have tried many, many brands throughout the years. These are the best, most versatile and a fantastic value.
inexpensive, and great
I needed an inexpensive brush to use for glues and mediums, so I bought a 1/2" Loew Cornell American Painter Brush. I had also ordered some Holbein Irodori paints. So I took my Arches paper outside on a beautiful May day, with the idea to use only the new brush (usually I would paint with a sable). I was completely mesmerized by the different fine shapes and marks I was allowing it to make. I learned that if I slow down and let the brush play I could get some new forms to come out.

These brushes work beautifully with all my water media projects. They have the great durability to stand up to a lot of use.I paint and sell in many locations. I paint many projects each year and after years of work they are holding up and the brush I turn to for doing the job. The price is great and their performance doesn't ever fail.

The price is very nice and a great deal.Do paintings with it so saving money is a plus.so far don't see anything not so great.
The brush falls off
The brush tops falls off. I had to throw away about 5 of them because where the metal attaches to the wooden handle doesn't hold together.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
