Glossies are water-based acrylic enamels used in many types of decorative painting. They are formulated to adhere to slick, non-porous and non-oily surfaces such as glass, wood, ceramic, plastic, primed metal, tiles, stoneware, china, enamelware, and walls.
Colors are lightfast. They mix beautifully to achieve any hue, and dry to a glossy, enamel-like finish. Thin them with no more than 25% water.
Although Glossies contain no toxic ingredients, and conform to ASTM D 4236, they are not recommended for use on surfaces that come in direct contact with food and beverages. Finished pieces can be cleaned with soap and water and a soft cloth, but should not be cleaned with strong chemicals and abrasives.
Glossies are packaged in 2 oz (59 ml) flip-top jars, which are easily resealed to maintain the freshness of the paint.
Glossies can be air-dried or heat-set. To heat-set, bake pieces at 325°F (162°C) for 30-40 minutes in a kitchen oven, for a hard, ceramic-like finish. Allow the piece to warm up and cool down gradually with the oven.
Glossies have a thicker consistency than that of other decorative paints. For best results, use a soft natural-fiber brush, such as a red sable watercolor brush, or a soft synthetic-fiber brush, such as a golden taklon detailer.

Comments about Liquitex Glossies Acrylics:
This product is smooth to apply, is durable and comes to a high sheen upon firing in your oven. However, I have been told it is being discontinued by the manufacturer. This is a devastating to a professional artist that uses this product on everything! I hope Liquitex will reconsider!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I LOVE GLOSSIES!
from Wilmington, DE 19804
I Love Glossies and have been using them exclusively for 12+ years! They are the best, most professional looking finish on indoor or outdoor items, including stones, bricks, wood, branches, furniture, etc. We decorated a children's garden with fabulous colors in 2003 (the kids painted bricks and stones as a fundraiser) including 18' painted branches forming a Teepee, porch posts as accents and sign holders, birdhouses, benches and the children's painted bricks lined the swirling walkway through the garden! And it all still looks good in 2015 after sitting out in the DE weather for over 10 years! This paint is AMAZING.....but they say it is being discontinued! :o( WHAT????!!!I tried to buy up the last stock from DickBlick, but they have very few colors left....I am SO SAD!! My painted furniture, chairs, stools, and garden dancers will not gleam with all the colors of the rainbow~ Glossies were TRUE colors and brilliant when used in combos. WHat will I do without them in my future? HELP US, DICK BLICK! Convince the Liquitex folks how enamored we are of their Glossies enamels!I want to spend more money with Dick Blick on more wonderful Glossies paints! And larger pots would be great also! Just sayin.....I hope the rumors are wrong and they are only reconfiguring the packaging (that is near perfect already) or label design. Bring back our Glossies!Glossies forever!

Great color and consistency

I'm painting 60 wine glasses for an event and decided to use this color for the bottom of the stem. One coat has actually given pretty good coverage and the color is lovely - between jade and Kelly green. I'm thinking one more coat will do it, and that will likely use up most of the bottle. Great price - great product. I'll be ordering more.

Love these paints!
from Gloucester, Virginia
I use these to paint glasses. I have a hard time finding them in stores and am not sure why. I was nervous that they were going to become obsolete. I am a retired art teacher and ordered art supplies from Dick Blick for years. The price is much better than in art stores. They are the best!

liquitex, bright and smooth keeps me in the painten groove.
from thorne bay ak
liquitex paints are great. I have used liquitex for many, many years. They have always been smooth and bright. They clean up easy too. I bought glossie paints for the first time. Once again couldn't wait to get started. I painted a piece of glass. The color was translucent and, bright. You don,t have to spend a lot of money for a good product.

I use this paint to paint on glass. The colors are more brilliant than what I usually use. I am still getting used to how thin it is compared to paint I usually use.
Perfect paint for glass and porcelain. Very bright and durable.
Fabulous color on glass
from colorado and arizona
i have been painting on glass for a year now using the liquitex glossies. The compliments I have received are due to the high quality of paint that simply glows on the glass.
