The innovative brushes in the Liquitex Freestyle Large Scale line were designed to meet the expanding needs of acrylic artists working on a grand scale. Large, comfortable, non-slip, satin matte handles crafted from the highest-quality seasoned hardwood are paired with top-of-the-line synthetic bristle heads, and stainless steel rustproof ferrules that are screwed and glued to the handle.

Freestyle Large Scale brushes are artist-quality brushes that offer excellent durability in large-scale applications requiring rugged tools. This giant brush holds a large amount of paint, ideal for covering a large area quickly in large-scale applications.

Its handle can be unscrewed so the brush can be attached to a broom handle, great for painting hard-to-reach areas. A metal hook on the shoulder of the brush allows the brush to be attached to the side of a paint can or water bucket. Use this brush with acrylics or water-mixable oil paints.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.

Finish on brush handles cracked

Brushes nice to use but the coating on both the 1 inch and 2 inch brushes cracked deeply after first use/cleaning, making them effectively unusable. Brushes were used exactly as intended, with Liquitex brand varnish and cleaned gently with gentle dishsoap and water. Very surprising and disappointing. I will be returning these.

The brush bristles started "moving" in their ferule during the first use, and went out of it at first cleaning, I had that one replaced by the seller.
Another brush had the same problem later on at first use too, and it was too late to get a replacement by the seller.
I wrote to Liquitex and got no answer back.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These brushes are made for modern artists. I have several, the Universal Flats have become my favorite tools. The short paddle brushes are kinda fun, and the Giant brush is something I have dreamt about but never saw the perfect make... here it is.

I got the brush as a promotional freebie by Liquitex, and I am really impressed with it. I use acrylics, and it paints well and holds its edge very, very well, even after my rough use. It's one of the best acrylic brushes I've used. I definitely will be buying more of them.

Feels like an extension of the hand; the bristles are firm and short enough for precision marks, soft enough for expressive passages. I wouldn't use this for thick gesso, but it's wonderful for acrylic, both opaque and thinned. The 1" looks like it'll be a good travel brush- with the short handle it's pocket-sized. I love this product, plan to buy more sizes and recommend it highly.

Bought two four-inch brushes for priming a canvas board with gesso. Both broke on first use. The glue didn't hold the bristles into the ferrule, and any crimping seemed non-existent.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
