Liquitex Basics Matt Colors are ideal for students and artists needing a flat, matt surface and clean mixing. The deep, rich colors have a unique, free-flow formula.

These paints offer smooth leveling and extra opacity. They are permanent, water resistant, and flexible when dry. Thin with water and/or Liquitex Acrylic Mediums. Clean with soap and water.

Primary Set of 5 — A must for beginning artists or students studying color theory. Includes Primary Red, Primary Blue, Primary Yellow, Titanium White, and Ivory Black.

Intro Set of 6 — An introduction to Matt Acrylic colors that includes Cadmium Red Medium Hue, Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue, Mars Black, Phthalo Green, Titanium White, and Ultramarine Blue.

I'm a portrait painter and have been painting with acrylics. When under painting I use bright colors to give my painting "life". I really enjoy using this line of Liquitex since it's cheap, has a wide range of colors, and I can get it in a larger quantity. Usually you won't see these colors though since I have my final layers of my main color (with my more expensive/nicer arcylic on top). These get the job done.

I enjoy the fact that it can be mixed with acrylic mediums or with out & still be a consistant hue. Very nice.

Dead flat, liquid, opaque, paint. Fast drying, like really fast. This paint is the opposite of oil. Don't try to blend to achieve a subtle gradations in color . You can paint right over what you have just painted no waiting.

Clean, hard edge, liquid color. No atmosphere, No surface gloss at all.
I know of only one manufacture who makes a similar paint with better color energy , but that paint in not opaque.
