Liquitex Acrylic Varnishes, made from 100% acrylic polymer emulsions, form durable films when dry. They have excellent flexibility and resistance to chemicals, water, abrasion and ultraviolet radiation. Use them to provide lasting protection for artwork.
Note — Acrylic polymer varnishes permanently adhere to the surface, and are not removable. If you must be able to remove the varnish at a later date, use a non-polymer varnish such as Liquitex Soluvar Varnish. Polymer varnishes are not for use with oil paintings.
Liquitex Gloss Medium is also known as "Gloss Medium Varnish." Use it as a non-removable final picture varnish where a glossy protective coat is desired, or as a painting and glazing medium. It enhances the depth of color intensity, increases transparency and gloss, eases the flow of paint, and adds flexibility and adhesion to the paint film. Translucent when wet and transparent when dry, this 100% acrylic polymer varnish is watersoluble when wet and can be thinned. Use it as an extender, a fixative, a ground, or a varnish.

High Gloss Varnish
This low viscosity, permanent water-based varnish produces a high-gloss, clear finish. Translucent when wet, and clear when dry, it increases the gloss, depth, and intensity of colors. It provides a longer working time to eliminate drag, bubbles, and cloudiness. Sandable and non-tacky when dry, it is an excellent adhesive for collage and similar techniques. Not for use on flexible surfaces or over oil paint. Non-removable. Do not thin.
This medium viscosity varnish provides a satiny, non-glare, low-sheen final coat that intensifies dull colors without drastically reducing color depth. A 100% acrylic polymer varnish, Liquitex Matte Varnish is water-soluble when wet and can be thinned. Non-removable.
Final, clear, non-yellowing varnish has a satin finish. AP non-toxic.

Technically, a varnish is supposed to be removable from a painting for restoration purposes.
Liquitex has used the term "varnish" for many years with its polymer varnishes, although they are not actually removable.

Comments about Liquitex Acrylic Polymer Varnishes:
I have used the Satin and Gloss varnishes and both are excellent products. These varnishes go on very easy and protect paintings and other art projects extremely well. They do not yellow or cloud up, kinda cloudy when they are first applied. As it dries, it become completely invisible. If your looking for a great line of varnishes you wouldn't find a better product!

I have only used this product. But have used it for several years and have researched other products but have seen no reason to change. I apply on pigment printed canvases with cheap foam brushes. Simply pour directly from bottle onto canvas that is taped at the corners to a board for support. Then spread quickly with brush. Don't apply too much, as you will get grooves that are permanent. Better too little followed by a second coat or just right for a one coat solution. Brush both ways until it starts to set. There will be no bubbles and if the coat is too thin and looks uneven just let it dry and the next thin coat will go on like glass. Matte canvases soak up the first coat very fast making it dry fast. A second coat is much slower and a little goes a long way. I get beautiful results with no imperfections. Only the canvas weave forming the satin surface.
Great overall product. Smooth protective finish.

I decided to try the satin finish to protect my paintings and I think it's great. It's easy to apply with brush and for the most part, you can't see any brush strokes after it dries. My only gripe is the dust that settles onto the painting as you have to apply it flat on a surface. I try my best to keep the varnish room dust free, which is the bathroom, but still can't make it happen. I'm going to try to apply it vertically next time and see how it works. Other than the dust, it's a great protective satin coating for my acrylic paintings.

This High-Gloss Varnish Shines!
By An Abstract Minimalist
from Hartford, MI
I have been searching for years for a quality high-gloss varnish for my poured acrylic paintings, and I've finally found it! I haven't tried the matte varnish, but the high-gloss is so worth the money and I'll never use anything else. It boosts the appearance of my paintings from "average" to "gallery ready." The finish is crystal clear and is reflective like a sheet of glass. It's the perfect finishing touch.Be sure to apply this varnish on a very level surface or you will get little wavelike ripples in the clear-coat. It's not incredibly noticeable until you catch it in light at the right angle, but make sure that canvas is level so that the unevenness is avoided. Highly recommended.

A nice finish
from Childress, Texas
As a new painter with acrylics, this was my first experience using an acrylic varnish. The satin varnish was a little shinier than I expected, but was appropriate for my painting. The finish went on smoothly and dried in minutes. I entered the painting in a juried show, and it sold on the first day. I am very happy!
