Protect artwork by sealing backing boards to frames. Lineco Frame Sealing Tape provides an effective framing barrier for raw wood rabbets, fillets, and filler boards.
Acid-free, lignin-free buffered paper is laminated to a thin aluminum barrier layer and coated with an aggressive acrylic adhesive that holds strong to raw wood. The layer of aluminum provides a barrier that stops acid migration and meets the standard for maximum preservation framing.
This pressure-sensitive tape attaches firmly to almost any surface, and conforms well to most surface irregularities. It is manufactured from an exclusive Perma/Seal label stock with a foil layer, a non-yellowing, permanent acrylic adhesive and coated to match Lineco's Frame Backing Paper. Also provides an effective barrier for the rabbets of wooden frames.

A multi use sealing frame tape actually
from central Minnesota
Comments about Lineco Frame Sealing Tape:
While one of it's primary uses is to seal the rabbets of a wooden frame, it also works to create that dust barrier. The Nielsen "Snap" frames are a good example because the contemporary look is also quite light visually (thin), it is also not extremely deep. I use spacers to keep my photoart off of the glass, and the frames are a little shallow and very narrow on the back side. Normally one would apply ATG to the frame and cover with the dust sheet, but that is not entirely practical with this specific frame, so I seal with the Frame sealing tape for 2 reasons. 1- it adheres well to both the frame and the presentation board creating a seal. 2- the back edge of the frame moulding is less than 3/8 inch, so applying ATG becomes a wasteful endeavor as the ATG does not adhere well on the back of these frames.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The back side of this frame moulding is about half the front which is visible here.

Does the job

As a new artist framing her work for the first time I knew I needed something to cover the back of the frame. Bought this and it works well and looks professional. Just wish it were a little less costly. Luckily I use small frames so the roll should last a while.
When looking for "pro" results, this is the best bet.

I was very happy with the end result of using this tape on the back of my frame after finishing the piece with archival foam backing. It made for a very nice finishing presentation. Expensive tape but probably worth it.
Very good product
Works great for frames and mats.
Not as good as it used to be
from North Carolina
This tape used to be great. It stayed in place and had good adhesion. I think they changed its formulation and now it peels up over time and I can no longer use it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
