I teach collage and found the Studiotac adhesives easy to use and very neat relative to glues. HOWEVER, if you are trying to use it to attach translucent or transparent materials, be aware that the dots of glue will show underneath and spoil the effect. For those applications you should use a transparent acrylic medium instead.

It took me a few times until I figured out how to use the studio tac for my delicate papercuts:
I peel back the protective sheet, place my papercut/Scherenschnitt face side up on the tiny glue dots, put the protective sheet back on, trim around my papercut in order to safe as much of studio tac as possible for other projects and then I rub it thouroughly over and over with a wooden egg (or anything smooth), especially the edges of the papercut to make the little dots apply to all the corners and edges. Then peel top sheet off, pick off your paper/papercut and place it whereever it needs to got. It is great that you can easily get rid of any excess gluedots by "erasing" them with a kneadable (or maybe any other soft) eraser.
Great product, for my kind of projects it is the only possible mounting technique.
Would definitely recommend it, but not for kids, it is too fancy, besides it would stick to their fingers.
