Lascaux created these brilliant metallic shades, made from real metallic powders and the finest select acrylic polymers. The stabilized metal alloys are set in an acrylic emulsion, and are ideal for faux finishes.
In a wet state, they will react with patina solutions. When dry, the colors are lightfast and water resistant, and will not darken with age.
A final coating of Lascaux Transparent Varnish-UV is recommended to protect exposed works against ultraviolet radiation. The Gold shades, Britannia Silver, and Copper are suitable only for qualified outdoor use. Suitable for non-alkaline grounds.
Note — In contrast with iridescent and pearl acrylics from many other manufacturers, which are made from aluminum silicate (mica), Lascaux's Studio Bronze Acrylics contain real bronze powders. Lascaux also offers the Perlacryl Iridescent Acrylics, a range of pearl colors with aluminum silicate.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

Finally a metallic Acrylic paint!!!!
By SR Sandpaint
from South Dakota
So for a studio or student type of product it may seem a little pricey, but over all I love these products. I use them in my paintings and did a comparison video with liquitex and some others to see the difference...there is no question the lascaux is the best. I am thinking about buying some other colors in the lascaux line as well. Also check out the artist metallic set of three on DB it's great too. I just can't say enough about how great this product is!!!!!

Great for oxidized effects
By Marlana Adele Vassar
from Pittsburgh, PA
I mostly do mixed-media art and have incorporating oxidized metal paint into my work over the last 2-3 years. I haven't found another paint like the Lascaux brand but have no complaints. It oxidizes quickly and the effects are pretty predictable. Just be warned though it is a little on the thin side, and you should shake well before using to make sure the particles disperse evenly through the paint. I also have brushes that only get used with this paint, it tears up brushes pretty quickly. Also, be careful about other kinds of paints you use next to it because oil/acrylic may also turn a different color next to the Lascaux paints or oxidizing chemicals.

I have been trying many different metallic paints and these seem like the best. Beautiful sheen and vibrancy. The reason I gave them only 4 stars is because they can be a bit gritty if not completely stirred and shaken. You really have to put some elbow grease into it to get them to be smooth. But overall the colors are outstanding!
