These highly concentrated pearlescent and iridescent colors have incredible strength and power. Perlacryl shades are non-blocking, elastic, scratch-resistant, and water-resistant, making them ideal for a variety of media applications.
Note — Perlacryl colors are based on the use of aluminum silicate (mica) powders, together with conventional pigments, to achieve pearl and iridescent effects. Lascaux also offers the Bronze Acrylics, a range of acrylic colors based upon bronze metallic powders.

The Pearlacryls are amazing!!!!!
from Chicago, Illinois
These paints are great! I haven't found anything else that can compare to the Pearlacryls in this line. If you want high pigment that remains after drying and an iridescent effect, these are for you. They are worth the money... even though I would love to pay less.

Simply the Best!

I had been searching for a product like this one but settling for the less expensive metalics and pearls. These are truly wonderful.

Durable, Iridescent, Translucent Acrylic
from Delaware, OH
I am painting 3-foot high, cast carousel horses. I really liked the selling points of DURABLE & IRIDESCENT. The iridescence really offers an illuminated glow or sheen which I really was after. However, I was surprised to discover that the paints are NOT opaque. The opacity created two problems: 1) when the paint was brushed on, it streaked in its pure form. Once I discovered if I slightly diluted the paint with water, it flowed on smoother and without streaks. 2) The translucency now proposes another problem with the streaks: do I paint a second layer to eliminate the streaks and achieve opacity? I also lucked out that the horse was primed white. The white base provided a better surface for the colors to achieve their true color and function of Iridescence. The iridescence should also work if you paint color over color. Even in a translucence finish, the colors still achieved that illuminated sheen or glow. The paints are VERY expensive and I would only recommend if you need that pearl-look. I have not tried mixing colors (prior to painting) yet; but it is supposed to work.
