I tried colored pencil, graphite, watercolor and markers on this paper.

It didn't take well to colored pencil. All colors were severely muted and this became a ridiculous frustration.

Graphite wasn't much better, and when I carefully erased, the paper feathered off.

I found that this is a SUPERB book for markers, however, there is a definite bleed thru which will ruin the paper beneath.

I wound up filling this sketch book,{I did buy the large size}, with watercolor landscape sketches, enhanced with marker.

It took me awhile to learn how to best use this paper as the watercolor definitely bleeds thru. I'm LOVING the unique results this paper offers. I only have 7 pages left to fill at this time !

I folded a large piece of wax paper to size of page, but doubled and also a piece of paper towel. I place these under my intended masterpiece,{!}, before I begin.

When I finish the page, I unfold the wax paper and lay the painted page sandwiched between the wax paper so that my previous page and under page does not get wet.

The paper buckled somewhat, here and there, and so I have taken to ironing them flat again with great success !

I have to say, I love this book and the unique effects...BUT...if you're looking to control watercolor ...then don't even try.

This book truly is best for markers. I happen to LOVE mine.

I like my lama li for markers. The paper wasn't good for pencil or other media. My work in it was best for markers. I have a large collection of markers in various brands. 00 and 01 pen markers worked well on the paper.The marker ink bleeds thru to the next page and sometimes I got a delicacy that was more unusual.
