The Long Point Pencil Sharpener by Kum creates a perfect pencil point in two steps, first sharpening the wood casing and then precision-sharpening the graphite point.
Ideal for sharpening both standard pencils and draftsman's pencils, the sharpener features two 8 mm holes, two steel blades, an automatic brake that prevents oversharpening, and a translucent, hinged plastic lid that lets you see when the shavings receptacle is full. Two replacement blades are also included.

Need a great sharpener

Comments about Kum Long Point Pencil Sharpener:
My experience with sharpeners is that they are all great when they are new but after being used for a time they aren't great. I buy the best pencils, and I hate to see them just be wasted away for a sharp point.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have always wonder why they did not make blades for these sharpeners. I could see that they had a screw to replace it. Then I watched one of my many art YouTubes and heard someone mention they bought some. I am like "WHAT"... so right to your site I go and there they are. AWESOME!! I work with prismacolor pencils and my sharpeners are really dull. I am starting a collection on sharpeners. SO I bought what you had to test them out. I love them! I will be stocking up on more of this product since I see they sell fast and the price is perfect. As an Art Teacher - I will be sharing this information with my students.

Great for acquiring a long, sharp point
I wasn't sure if I'd love it, but I do!
I had a hand sharpener for also 8 years and it finally died on me. I decided to try this one since I was ordering from here anyway and the price was decent. It can be hard to find a really nice hand sharpener (or maybe I'm just picky? I love really sharp pencils!) and I wasn't expecting too much, but I actually really like this one. I wasn't sure how I'd like barrel-then-lead sharpening, but it allows you to easily get a super sharp point! I'm impressed by this little thing. I also like that it comes with one set replacement blades! I've used it on my was pencils, oil pencils, and graphite pencils without issue. The pencil shavings holder is a little small though. If you're going on a long trip where you won't be able to dispose of the shavings easily, I'd recommend bringing something else along just in case. Not a con to me, but just a note. I love this little guy and use it all the time now :)

I use several brands of colored pencils. It works great across all brands
this is a really nice sharpener for colored pencils (prismas, polychromos, and luminance). You can tell when the blades dull, because it is extremely difficult to sharpen the polychromos. The only breakage was when the blades were really dull. It comes with two extra blades which is a plus. Do not sharpen pastel pencils with this sharpener! I use a razor blade and sandpaper for my pastel pencils. Overall, I would reccamend this sharpener, and I will stock up on blades since I use it a lot.
Fine tuning the sharpening!

I got this sharpener upon recommendation of a teacher. I like that you can separately whittle down the wood before bringing to a point the led. One does not need to push the pencil in at all, simply turn with a gentle hand. The one down point of this sharpener is that it does it has a rather small container for the shavings and the lid doesn't leave enough room for the shavings to move away from the sharpening blade.
This sharpener was recommended by a friend, and I really like it. It has one hole to sharpen the wood, then another hole to sharpen the lead of the pencil. It does an excellent job on graphite, although I haven't tried it on my pastel pencils yet. Am very pleased with this little jewel.
