This is a versatile product. I have used it on all kinds of art projects. The best thing about it is it gives great results every time with ease of use. It even makes cheap paint that dries flat come to life (but also works with fine paint.

According to my emails with Krylon, it also features only conservation-quality ingredients.

There are many great choices for varnish, but if you like that "fresh from the palette" look of glossy, vibrant colour, then Kamar is a cheap and easy way to get that look.

This product is remarkable and well worth the money. It is workable, meaning it can be paintd over. This means it can even act as a primer between different media. It is very eeasy to use and it gives paintings a fine finished look. I have used it for years and have not seen any other work as well as Krylon's Kamar Varnish.

I paint a lot of art for resale and I have been buying the kind of varnish that I need to apply with a brush. At times I noticed some inconsistencies in this process where the varnish would not distribute on the canvas evenly when applied. This was even with at least 2 coats applied in two different directions. However, I did some research on varnish for wood and then I ran across this product. I noticed that they make many kinds of varnish and paints and this one is specifically for the artist painting with acrylic and maybe oil but I'm not sure. But in any event I ordered 3 from Blick because it was a bit cheaper here and I love this product. I can spray it on "outside the house of course" and it sprays on evenly and dries fast. When I would normally need to wait at least 24 hours between applying coats of wet varnish I can now apply a 2nd coat in about an hour. I have to wear a mask when I use this product and I must apply it outside due to the strong fumes.

I have used this product for 35 years. Some of the treated paintings are in my collection, the surface is perfect with no discoloration, and still have a even sheen. I have used it on acrylic and oil both with exceptional results. I apply it with several light coats, it brings up color and levels flat areas, even those earth tones. It dries fast.

I'm painting with Acrylic on plastic. The colors become much richer with a coating of KKV and protects agains skuffing, although you have to be careful of the sprayed surface as it, too will mark - it is reletively soft. Spray flat, not vertical... not drips... Experiment with amounts and timing. For example - after spraying to a nice gloss... wait a couple of minutes and lightly mist again... you will get a slight stippled effect which reduces somewhat the reflection. Shake frequently while spraying and when you get near the end - rotate the red nozzle so the pick-up tube in the can is at the bottom of the remaining spray... Do this spraying with a really good mining dust capability mask - activated charcole and do it outside... be careful of airborne dust as it will stick immediately... If you get some imperfections, you can sand off the surface with 600 wet or dry paper with water and a rubber sanding block... be careful not to cut through the picture pigment and this only works if you have little or no texture.
