When applied between paint layers, Krylon Quick Dry for Oil Paintings increases the oxidation rate of oil paints so they dry faster, allowing artists to add highlights or prevent the blending of colors. Quick Dry also improves paint flow when mixed into paint like a medium. When sprayed lightly onto completed paintings, Quick Dry is ideal for transporting oil paintings before they are completely dry. Quick Dry contains UV light absorbers and stabilizers.
Although Quick Dry dries to touch in 10–15 minutes, one must generally wait 24–72 hours before handling the artwork. Drying times for oil paints depend on the thickness of the paint layer, the oil base used as a binder (for example, safflower oil dries faster than linseed oil), and the particular pigments that are used.
Krylon's Gallery Series Artist Sprays and Clear Coatings are sure to become the artist's choice for protecting, preserving, and beautifying works of art.
All Gallery Series products include a powerful combination of Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer (HALS) and an exclusive UV Absorber (UVA) for maximum protection from ultraviolet light, and advanced protection against smudging, smearing, fading, yellowing, cracking, moisture damage, and more.

Comments about Krylon Gallery Series Quick Dry for Oil Paintings:
I purchased 2 cans of this product to take on a month long trip. Experimenting beforehand it does not appear to be as advertised or previously reviewed. I sprayed exactly as suggested on the can an underpainting (thinly painted) on a Richeson Premium Gesso Panel. Relative humidity is in the single digits (Montana) and average temperature is 68 degrees. 24 hrs later still extremely tacky. Disappointed. Without this spray, the underpainting would be dry enough to work today or tomorrow.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Time is of the Essence

Fantastic product if used correctly. I would recommend this to any people who are sick of their oil paintings taking weeks or even months to dry, whether it'd be for selling purposes or your own, understandable, impatience. Read instructions carefully and practice use before applying to the Big Piece to get a feel for the product and to prevent it from harming your masterpiece. Highly useful product, it will help on any artistic adventure ; )
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Krylon quick dry spray for oil paints
from Lawrenceville, GA 30046
I'm pleased that this spray helped me with some impastoareas on a painting that would NOT dry. The only problem iswhen used, it does create a gloss effect that I would notwish there, but I was in a hurry.I also picked up mediums for oil to mix with the paint forboth impasto and smoothing strokes out which I havn't usedyet, but looking forward to saving myself some trouble. Storestaff was very helpful. Love to go there. Better than going on line.
