I have been using this product for a year now and love the feel of the pencils on pastelbord. Its a great pencil to use for details and goes on smoothly. I like them better than the dewent or stabillio. I do recommend this to other artists. Its great when painting dogs and people, just great!!!!!!!!!

I tried using these pencils to detail my pastel portraits. These pencils have many colors to choose from, however, they are difficult to blend and the colors are pale. They seem like a low-end pencil at a middle-range price. I've tried other brands of pastel pencils, and I definitely prefer the alternate brands over this one.

I used them for still life and for portraits. I do like the colors but that's it. They have very hard spots that create scratches. The pigments are uneven and create pigment smears; for example the pink leaves red spots. They didn't blend well.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I'm trying pastels again after 20+ years. It's a suprise to see how the medium has evolved since the eighty's. One of my favorite newer products is the pastel pencil. These are the only ones I've tried so far but I have to say I like them more than my soft pastel sticks. I bought them for doing detail but they blend so well I really have been using them for most of my painting! I originally bought them for 50% off on an auction site but loved them so much I decided to buy the full set here. Easy to sharpen, blend very well, erase easily and cover mistakes made by pastel stick very well!

I traded my rough derwent pastel pencils for these and I would definitely not go back. These are buttery smooth and quite soft for a pencil, they blend very well, and even a light stroke leaves a nice amount of pigment on your paper with no scratching. They sharpen to a very nice point, with care. Due to their softness however, it is apparent that they will wear relatively quickly for a pastel pencil; even so, I highly recommend these.

These pastel pencils come pre-sharpened to a nice point, great for doing fine work. They sharpen easily when the point gets dull. The colors are very vivid and easy to blend.
