Kinstler Painting Mediums

Everett Raymond Kinstler is a well-known portrait artist who painted portraits of six U.S. presidents. The Smithsonian National Museum's Portrait Gallery displays 75 of his pieces. Kinstler Painting Mediums were specifically formulated to Everett Raymond Kinstler's specifications.

Alkyd Oil Painting Medium — More than just a paint thinner, Kinstler Alkyd Oil Painting Medium is a semi-synthetic polymer that significantly accelerates the drying time of oil colors. Kinstler Alkyd Painting Medium can be mixed in any ratio to extend colors and is the ideal medium for creating transparent glazes. It dries to a tough yet flexible film, reinforces the coat's adherence, and is virtually non-yellowing.

Studio Painting Medium — A traditional mixture of liquids taken one step further, Kinstler Studio Painting Medium is formulated to the exacting specifications of legendary master artist Everett Raymond Kinstler. Use it with professional-grade oil paints to achieve the flow necessary to create the same luminous effects as Kinstler achieved in his studio portraits.
