My grandaughter tye-dyed 24 shirts for a 12th b'day party---attempted once without the soda ash---wow what a difference it makes with great dyes and the pre-wash in the soda ash---needlesss to say it was an expensive process BUT the results were worth it. Each one was unique and all the girls wore them to school a couple of days later. I also called your company prior to making my selections and the phone help was also great. Thanks

I use this dye to make tie dyes and it is great! My only complaint is that the shades of pink tend to "freckle" so they need to be strained well. I wish they were available in larger sizes.

I had dyed some silk with another product and the color was too light and splotchy due to my inexperience but I bought the Procion and re-dyed my fabric, the result was a beautiful, vibrant color and the splotches are barely noticeable. I am excited about the selection of colors as well, the fabric stores just cannot compete with the color selection. It's also an awesome value because I used one jar of dye versus 5 packages of the other brand!

i used this product for tye die....between the two options to set the dye i found if u want your colors to stay bright soak matireal in soad ash instead of mixing it with the dye

I purchased the Procion Dyes in all colors. I work for a ladies lingerie & foundations manufacturer. We use the Procion dyes to dye lace, elastic, & other small trims used on the samples we make. Procion colors are more vibrant & superior to the Rit dye. You only need to use a small amount.
The color chart supplied by Procion is very helpful when matching colors. The discount price you offer makes this a great bargain & I highly recommend this product.

These dyes are fantastic. They do work best on cotton. I have used them for tie-dye and ombre on many types of fabric and sometimes they do not bond so well to synthetics (there is another kind of dye for that.) Often, I really don't care and am pleased with ther result, even if it is not expected.
Mixing colors is a huge adventure. I am not always diligent about measurements and such, which is part of the fun for me. I like it that I do not get consistent results - the element of surprise (aleatory technique) is very important to me.
Black is the most inconsistent color. Sometimes I get wonderful blacks, sometimes I get a beautiful steely grey. (Several blacks are formulated for Procion MX - be meticulous about measurements if you want a particular black)
These are the real-deal dyes used by professionals artists. I will never use anything else.
