Add a lustrous glow to paintings, drawings, sculpture, stamping, jewelry, and more! Made from powdered mica, these non-toxic pigments will never rust or tarnish and exhibit extreme colorfastness and stability. Use them for interior, exterior, and archival applications.

Incorporate Pearl-Ex pigments into any viscous medium like oil, acrylic, gouache, varnish, wax, paper pulp, or clay. Use them for collage and mixed media art, calligraphy, faux-finishing, sculpture, papermaking, printing, candlemaking, pottery, and more.

Their temperature resistance allows them to be fired in a kiln up to 600°F (316°C). They may also be used dry and then sealed.

my only complaint is that the attached book that comes with this starter pack has nothing in it about pearl ex and poly clay, which is what I bought the pearl ex for. it does have nice ideas for other uses. The book is about 12 pages long.

I can't say enough good things about this product. I do a lot of fabric painting and have added it with great results to all kinds of fabric paints and inks.

The most recent use I've found for it is in my gel nails polish. I've used it in regular nail polish too! The powder is very fine and stays in suspension very well in nail polish. And I didn't have any problems with it curing well with the UV light used with my gel nail products.

I see most people use this w/ ceramics and pottery, so I'll offer some other uses. Mix Pearl Ex with polymer medium to create your own interference acrylics or add it to acrylic paint or acrylic ink for some pizzaz.

Recently, I bought some acrylic ink, and somehow it just didn't have the impact I wanted. Actually, it was Daler Rowney's Shimmer Blue. So added two different Pearl-Ex pigments and some water to thin down and voila! For reference, I added Macro Pearl, which is frosted white irridescent, and True Blue which is a nicely tinted medium blue. The variations you can achieve w/ these powders are mind boggling. For maximum punch, apply full strength - say on a border - and then cover w/ a film of polymer or pouring medium (my preference) for a high gloss finish.

These are a good value, and I would recommend to artists who like that shimmery/metallic effect that I can get enough of.

This is the first time I have used Pearl-Ex, so I can't help you too much. I bought it to makes some of my polymer objects sparkle. I tried mixing it in the clay and wasn't happy with the results, it was hard to get it mixed in and after it was fired, it didn't show up at all. Then I tried mixing it with High Gloss Varnish and it worked great.

Great product—have used it for several years usually to "spice" up opaque and transparent pigments of various mediums. Do not do oils, but any other I've used it with, either with the pigment or with the finish/sealer has done me well. My local art store stopped carrying; hence I found Dick again. Thank you.

I've brushed the dry powder into rough surfaces like wood and covered with clear acrylic providing a nice background for further painting or stickers and stamps as my granddaughter does. When mixed with transparent acrylics you get a nice sparkling paint. When mixed with GAC-100 you get a pearlescent product depending how muchpowder is added.
