Add a lustrous glow to paintings, drawings, sculpture, stamping, jewelry, and more! Made from powdered mica, these non-toxic pigments will never rust or tarnish and exhibit extreme colorfastness and stability. Use them for interior, exterior, and archival applications.

Incorporate Pearl-Ex pigments into any viscous medium like oil, acrylic, gouache, varnish, wax, paper pulp, or clay. Use them for collage and mixed media art, calligraphy, faux-finishing, sculpture, papermaking, printing, candlemaking, pottery, and more.

Their temperature resistance allows them to be fired in a kiln up to 600°F (316°C). They may also be used dry and then sealed.

This is the first time I have used Pearl-Ex, so I can't help you too much. I bought it to makes some of my polymer objects sparkle. I tried mixing it in the clay and wasn't happy with the results, it was hard to get it mixed in and after it was fired, it didn't show up at all. Then I tried mixing it with High Gloss Varnish and it worked great.

Great product—have used it for several years usually to "spice" up opaque and transparent pigments of various mediums. Do not do oils, but any other I've used it with, either with the pigment or with the finish/sealer has done me well. My local art store stopped carrying; hence I found Dick again. Thank you.

I've brushed the dry powder into rough surfaces like wood and covered with clear acrylic providing a nice background for further painting or stickers and stamps as my granddaughter does. When mixed with transparent acrylics you get a nice sparkling paint. When mixed with GAC-100 you get a pearlescent product depending how muchpowder is added.

I mix this product with liquin to create metalic paint that can be used in oil or acrylic paintings. I have also mixed it with cold wax medium and it seems to work well with this too.

I have used Pearlex powders with polymer clays, and paitnting. I even use it in an airbrush for a unbelievabled iridescent effect and wonderful finish! The colors are lovely and a little tiny bit goes a long way! These pigments are so versatile!

I have been using Jaquard Pearl Ex for several years with my poly clay productions ( prefer Premo). I love the way the Pearl Ex colors bring extra color and shine to the poly clay. It seems expensive, but amazingly it lasts a long time. Well, unless you are using it 24/7, which I don't.
I use a few good small, watercolor, soft, type brushes to apply it. I like the talon brushes, sizes: rounds 1 and 6, flat 10, script 1. If you make larger items, you would like larger brushes.
I place the brush tip in the Pearl Ex bottle, then tap it gently in the upside down lid. After tapping off excess, it is applied to the item. I don't think I would enjoy my finished product near as much if the Pearl Ex was not used. Anyway, have fun and make pretty stuff.
Frequently, simple lined rubber stamps make a nice pin or pendant used with poly clay and Pearl Ex. Or use metal cookie cutter, or...cut clay with sharp instrument to shape, or... make your own cutters.
