I've been airbrushing for nearly 20 years and I've used everything from old lacquers, to modern urethanes. Since I'm use to the way automotive paints flow nicely, I haven't been real impressed with most water based paints. I got a sample of com-art paints in an Airbrush kit that I bought, so I gave it a try one day and really like it. It flows most similar to solvent based paint, and doesn't separate when spraying on metal surfaces. It paints good on base coated metal and on textiles, so I have added it to my paint supplies and will continue to use it.

I have been working as a freelance illustrator for more than 10 years and the airbrush has been, and still are, one of my favourit tools. I have tried a lot of different brands of colours, but Comart colours is the one that works for me. It flows easily, the colours are crisp and strong, and by combining the opaques and transparent colours you'll get a great result

I'm a professional artist, and I paint scale replicas of movie characters, props, etc. (resin, plastic, poly stone, etc.) with com art paint. I like their photo black paint set a lot. It's time consuming and a chore to mix paint for air brush ready. Nutral grays are convinient. I can change values of any airbrush ready colors with ease and get my air brush colors flowing with minimum interruption of color mixing tasks.

Golden airbrush colors are great for base coats, and Com Art colors are superior for layering colors. They don't go on very heavy, so you'll have better control. This quality is especially helpful when layering with transparent colors because when you spray multiple layers, they all show through to create one color. You don't want a radical color shift when you add a layer.

I haven't noticed more tip dry than expected. I actually surprised that there isn't more tip build up after painting for a while.

I do recommend all com art opaque and transparent colors, but I do not recommend their metallic colors. Pearlescent additive is great, but other metallic colors are not really metallic. Bronze and silver are glitter like, and they need flow aid to make them flow better. Color and flow of copper is O.K., but again, not really metallic. They need to change the name of Gold metallic to Gold pearlescent because that's what you get. I can see myself using these "metallic" colors in some other applications other than metallic finish uses, but you'll be disappointed if you expect these to give you metallic finishes.

Cant say much about these colors as I have never used them before. The reason I bought them is that they had a couple colors that my regular airbrush paint didn't have, so throught I would give these a try.

I've been using Com Art for 10 years and it has proved to work very well for my needs. I paint and airbrush on illustration board, usually ocean inspired art. This paint is also great to experiment with. That's up to the artist to figure out according to their needs. I'm glad to see that the larger sizes are now available as I will be needing those in the near future.

I was looking for an opaque orange and yellow for painting on sealed wood. I purschased the Com Art product and found it to have significant problem separating in the bottle. Shaking it did not seem to help. There were more problems with tip dry. It seems as though the paint did not dissolve completely. I tried Golden and that was superior.
Neither brand was completely opaque.
