Welcome to dickblick
The Isabey Kolinsky Sable brushes are handmade by master brushmakers. Only the finest hand-selected Kolinsky Sable sourced from Siberia during the winter months is used to make these brushes, because that's when the hair is the longest, most dense, and most luxurious.
By design, the hair is seated deeper in the ferrule with less of its curve exposed, maximizing spring, snap, and control. The result is a flat brush that produces smooth, even strokes while holding a very tight edge.
Used along the tip, the Isabey Kolinsky Sable Round is capable of creating long, fine lines. The length and diameter of the "Albata" handle is customized for different tuft weights — every brush, regardless of size, balances perfectly.

These are the best brushes. They will do anything from Avery fine line to a thick wash and the hold enough paint that you can do almost everything without reloading. I love mine.

Outsranding # 2 brush for lines and edges.
By Faye Raye
from San Francisco
Similar #2 watercolor brushes don't compare when creating straight lines and edges, & details as with this Kolinksky.
Unbeatable for a straight edge or a line.
I use the #2 for painting small, smooth areas, creating straight edges and lines. It's perfect for giving a watercolor a finished look. Today, I will purchase another Kolinky Brush. The results of using the #2 left me with such a good feeling about my painting that I will revise my budget in another category to allow me enjoy more Kolinski brushes.

Great brush holds plenty of paint.
Sable. Who can go wrong with sable!
In my opinion you can't paint without sable. Why not get the best and make the best art?!
These brushes are wonderful--wish I'd switched to the real animal hair ones years ago! Always said I couldn't afford it. But now I feel I couldn't afford not to!

Well I got the #8 round to try. I fell in love with it right away. Holds a lot of color and water. I will be buying again soon. Thinking about #2 round and #6 flat next time.

I use the Isabey and Raphael brushes for egg tempera painting. They are durable yet sensitive to brush strokes, good snap back, holds paint well and maintains a great point.

Very nice brushes
By old painter dude
Hair is a little floppy for so called kolinski. Blicks discount makes the price right, MSRP is a little out of line for the quality of hair. It's still a nice, well made brush, pleasant to use.
