Somehow, these brushes make some of my paints dry with a subtile sparkle, just like the finish on real flower petals in the sun. Other brushes, used with exactly the same paints, from the same tube don't do this. You need these, especially if your work includes floral botanical painting. Can't say enough good about these brushes and am buying more sizes as soon as I can

Wonderful brushes! I have 7 of them in various sizes. I am now shopping to buy the larger sizes. I have used many brushes over the years and these are by far my favorites!!! I use these exclusively for watercolors. They may be a bit pricey (what good brush isn't) but they last and they make me a better artist.

First of all Blick offers such amazing discounts, then when you use this brush for the first time it is nothing but pure love and worth every bit of the money! I've tried to use real hair brushes and haven't liked them at all and thought I would try this one and loved it!!! Effortlessness applying water and paint to paper using this brush. My watercolor students will love this brush and I can't wait to have them buy at least one. Can't wait to buy the #5 & #6 when I can afford it!

This brush is exquisite!! Feels like I'm holding magic in my hand. The mop is SILKY, BRILLIANT. NOW I'M PAINTING. First review I've ever taken the time to write...it's worth it. If you are just beginning to paint, save every penny you can to buy this brush. Don't buy anything else. You WILL NOT REGRET IT. If you have any desire to paint at all, you will love this brush. If you don't love this brush....quit painting...it's not for you. I have the size three. As soon as I finish writing this review, I'm buying more sizes. I bought my first Isabey squirrels in 1987. I loved it even more than my Isabey kolinskies. Sure the lacquer chipped after nearly 25 years. But it still keeps a needle sharp point. It does both fat washes and render work. I have larger sizes also, but the 3/0 is always resting on my palette and gets the most work. Unlike kolinskies, it's a small mop, but a detail mop, in that it carries lots of color and water. The wicking leaves you with some very nice dye line edges. It's not an amateur brush and takes some getting used to, but it's absolutely fabulous! Not to mention it's longevity will make in in your stable for decades.

I recently purchased a Isabey Squirel Tail Mop and found it a great brush. I teach watercolor and have been painting for 28 years. This brush carries a load fabulously. Does not wear on the paper. And off loads for a wonderful wash but also can be used for fine line work.
This brush takes some getting used to because of its softness, but is worth the practice. I highly reccomend this brush for the serious painter.
