Comments about Isabey Original Siberian Blue Squirrel Quill Mop Series 6234:
Like a good friend, the quill mop brush is a pleasurable experience. The #5 brush I acquired easily holds and releases water, effectively absorbs and applies watercolor, and assists me in smoothly creating amazing washes and shapes. A dream come true!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've never used a mop brush before but a lot of great watercolor artists that I follow on IG talk about mop brushes and how great they are. I finally gave in and purchased one- I got the size 0 which is a lot bigger than I anticipated. I believe the number sizing on these brushes are a bit different than what I'm use to with round brushes. But the most amazing thing is, I don't think that it will matter because the point stays really pointy and can do fine line work too if your hand is steady enough. It holds lots of pigment and I feel like doing clean, even washes over large areas are super easy to do now. HOW DID I NOT GET ONE OF THESE BEFORE?I recommend these brushes to everyone! I am no expert and I think anyone of any level of watercolors should try one out! I'm writing this review in hopes of winning a #sweepstakes! :)

I love this brush, especially for cases. It holds tons of liquid.
Best brush in the world

Holds lots of water, but comes to a lovely point. Almost sumi brush-like. I have a small one (i think 3/0), and I use it a lot.
The Brushes I have Been Waiting For
I had been having such problems producing satisfactory washes and executing similar techniques. These brushes immediately ended my problems in these areas. The brushes are expensive, but worth every penny for those who want to elevate their watercolor techniques.

My love of Isabey squirrel mops started with the squirrel pocket brush. I have since purchased other sizes both smaller and larger than the pocket brush. All of them have a wonderful point, water carrying capacity, and balance in the hand. Hard to explain the last quality until you hold one: You just want to keep painting with it.One downside of the brush is the price. Another, which I should have recognized earlier on, is the life of the squirrels. If these concerns trouble you, I would highly recommend the Princeton Neptune and Raphael Soft Aqua brushes as synthetic squirrel substitutes. Both have good points and large water carrying capacity when compared to other synthetic brushes made from golden taklon or other materials that try to imitate sable.
Quality watercolor brushes
If you paint in watercolor, it is wise to invest in quality mop brushes. These are great and I now own several in different sizes.
