Used the paper to make origami flowers for a wedding,150 in all. Each flower takes 5 petals to make 1 flower, so I used 3 rolls in all. Search everywhere for the blue foil metallic paper and finally found it here. The only thing bad about it was the price of shipping. Could have bought another roll with what I paid to have it shipped to me.

Good but rolls are against the grain

I cut the paper from these Hygloss Metalic Rolls into smaller sheets to make origami.

I like the shiny colors, the fact that they come in rolls (more economical), and that they are generally a good price. Not a fantastic deal, but a good price nevertheless.

The unfortunate thing about these paper rolls is that the paper is rolled against the grain. This is an important feature for my origami since the paper will fold and behave diffirently based on the grain.

Grain means the way the fibres are oriented when the paper is made. Most machine made papers will have a distinct direction in which the fibres orient themselves so you can cut your paper along the grain or against the grain.

These papers are rolled onto the cardboard tubing so the fibers run up and down the short end of the paper. It would have been better to roll the paper onto the tubing such that the fibers align along the length of the roll. This would allow the naturally curl in the paper to be the same as the curl caused by the cardboard tubing.

Currently, the paper tends to naturally curl up-and-down due to orientation of fibers, where as the forced rolling of the paper onto the cardboard tubing causes the paper to curl left-and-right. The paper buckles somewhat oddly because of the misalignment.

But having said all that, the Hygloss Metallic Rolls are shiny, they do come in great colors, and they are a good price. All in all a good buy for non-picky paper people.
