As a watercolor painting instructor and artist, I have used this little bottle for years and have bought dozens of them for my students. They don't leak. They don't clog. You can vary the kind of spray that comes out by the way you push the plunger; big drops spritzing down on your paper and paint or a fine spray. I used them for water and also have a dozen or so with diluted watercolor paint in them for fine sprays of color.
I ask my students to get them because they are worth the money, give the desired effects, and last for a long, long time.
This is a MUST HAVE in anyone's watercolor kit.

I have a few of these spray bottles and they're a vital part of my painting gear.

PROS:
* Produces a gentler, finer, more even mist than the more common, household trigger-pull spray bottles.
* Small size fits well into your workspace and is easy to keep close.
* Protective cap lets you travel with it without any mess.
* Spray onto watercolor pans to soften paint so that it's moist and goes onto the brush without any pan scrubbing.
* Spray onto acrylic and water-miscible oils on the palette to retain their consistency and extend their working time.
* Spray onto paper or canvas to make it quicker and easier to apply even coats of paint or gesso.
* Spray onto moist acrylic paint you've applied to paper or canvas to extend its open time.

CONS:
* Spray can come out uneven with big droplets, which can be a problem if spraying onto moist paint on the support. You need to push down firmly and quickly to improve atomization, and spray at least a foot away so any drops fall down before they get to the paint.
* Cap is detachable and perfectly clear, so it's easy to lose. You may want to paint the cap with bright acrylic to make it harder to lose. I also wish the cap was somehow integrated into the bottle.

I am a watercolor instructor and have been painting in this medium for over 25 years. This is the only watercolor bottle I recommend as it is useful for special effects in watercolor. Apply a wet wash on your paper, wait for the shine to go away and then spritz sparingly. The little drops of water will create small marks in your painting that resemble snow, rain or "magic dust" effects. You can also fill these bottles with very diluted paint and spray apply your watercolor paints. Be sure not to spray apply toxic pigments, though, and clean out the sprayer when you're finished or it may clog.
