Professional quality at an affordable price — that's what you get with Holbein Heavy Body Artist Acrylics, engineered to add more luster, brilliance, and color vigor to your paintings, as well as higher lightfast ratings.
Utilizing the best traditional inorganic pigments as well a the latest and most up to date organic pigments, Holbein Heavy Body Artist Acrylics make mixing seamless and thinning effortless. The 113 carefully detailed colors in the line can be thinned with water or acrylic mediums, or applied as a thin, dry brush layer. The heavy body formula is thick and brushable and will retain impasto textures and marks.
Superior, smooth, and vivid in every way, the Holbein Heavy Body range is certain to meet and surpass your highest expectations for an acrylic paint, no matter what your painting style.
Holbein's luminous colors offer brilliance and high chroma not found in conventional pigments. Because they contain fluorescent dyes and pigments that are fugitive, this brilliance will fade and the colors will shift with exposure to ultraviolet light. The luminous color series are best suited for works that are temporary, or that are meant to be photographed and used in a digital format.

Comments about Holbein Heavy Body Artist Acrylics:
I bought this paint and tested it against Golden heavy body artist grade, Golden Open, and Holbein Acryla. I used all four paints on a 30x40 sheet. I wanted a legit cost comparison and ease of use between them. Holbein heavy body is very pigment rich, slightly more expensive than Golden heavy body paint, and much less expensive than Acryla. Holbein Heavy body has more shine than the others tested, so I decided to use matte medium with it. Most Golden products have a chart on the tube to let you know what the properties are, Holbein does not. Still I think the heavy body stacks up as competitive. I ended up using holbein heavy body on most of the painting. I'll be spending probably the next year continually testing these four products. Didn't have a problem with any of the paints tested when cleaning the brushes wih pink soap, didn't have a problem with inconsistent mixes from the tube. My skill level with acrylics has been low end craft paints and basics. Im pretty wrll versed in using artist grade holbein gouache and artist grade oil paints. Aryla really was the easiest paint for mixing natural colors, while holbein heavy body and golden open were the most vivid making them the least realistic for my current skill level ( college level painter).
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Holbein acrylics worth the price
By Artsy Lady
from Ventura, CA
The colors are rich and vibrant, which is important for my colorful paintings. I had loved Holbein watercolors and was surprised to find they have heavy body acrylics, too. A sample of the tube color is brushed onto the label so you can see the accurate color. The only drawback is the cap, which sometimes breaks during use (the same thing happens on the ones on Golden tubes). I keep intact ones from discarded tubes and clean them to use as replacements.

I love these acrylic paints! They come in so many colors, they blend beautifully, and they're not plasticky like I've run into with some other acrylics. Overall I love these! I'm just a hobby painter who likes to paint landscapes and other things, and these have been perfect!!!

I have used Holbein Heavy Body Artist Acrylics extensively and really like the vibrant colors. These are a good quality Heavy Body Paint. I use them in my studio when using Acrylics. At this point I have not encountered any problems when using these Acrylic Paints.
Beautiful Acrylic Paints

A bit pricey, but the colors are amazing and the paints highly spreadable. They blend really nicely.
I can truly say that Holbein Heavy Body Acrylic Paint provides a wide selection of vibrant choices. The rich color is different from most of the Heavy Body Acrylic Paints I have tried in the past. The cost is on average comparable to most of the other Heavy Body Paints. I like the thickness of the paint and adding gel medium to the paint adds a wonderful look to your paint. I would recommend everyone try it once.

An okay acrylic
from Athens, OH
I am a landscape artist and I have been trying different brands of paint for a couple of years. I thought that these were artist quality acrylics as the name suggests but after ordering them I realized that they have a better quality of paint that is a lot more expensive. From that I am assuming that these are student grade acrylics. I didn't really have any problem with them except that that they are a "buttery consistency" as some people call it, much like Golden acrylics. If you like Golden, which I don't, you will probably like these, but why not just buy Golden in larger tubes and save money? I prefer a heavier body paint so I will stick with Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylics or Utrecht Artists' Acrylics. From the testing that I have done, there isn't a lot of difference in any of the brands except in color density and viscosity. Both W & N and Utrecht are unsurpassed in these qualities. I would like to try the Holbein Acryla line but due to the exorbitant price I probably won't.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good Amount of Pigment
I have used Holbein watercolors exclusively since I discovered them. Their acrylics share many of the same characteristics...heavily pigmented, very "mixable" consistency, can get the cap on and off the tube without being Houdini.

Holbein Acrylics nice quality
from Mohave Valley, Arizona
I'm enjoying the Holbein Acrylics and ordering them online is the only way I can find them in our area, so thanks for offering them on your website.I did order a fifth tube that I really didn't need yet in order to qualify for the bonus tube of white being offered for buying five tubes. I clicked on the bonus offer but did not see a way to add it to my order. I was hoping to still receive the white bonus tube in hopes that it would be included automatically but I did not receive it. If there is a way to still receive this, I would appreciate it.Thanks for offering quality products!
