Holbein Fluid Acrylic is a low-viscosity artist acrylic that delivers exceptional brilliance and clarity in a smooth, free-flowing formula. The range of 60 colors is based on the most popular colors in Holbein's world-renowned heavy body acrylic and watercolor lines, and the colors match across the ranges.
Produced using lightfast pigments and no fillers or extenders, Holbein Fluid Acrylic delivers outstanding tinting strength, durability, adhesion, and flexibility. It is formulated to resist crazing, wrinkling, and foaming whether dripped, poured, sprayed, or applied with a brush.
Holbein Fluid Acrylic can easily be thinned to achieve watercolor-like effects. It also mixes seamlessly with all acrylic mediums including gels, pastes, and gesso.

Never knew these existed, solved a big application issue for me.
I like the packaging, colors, and the fluidity!
So easy to apply as a glaze over an already finished painting to give it a glow.

I usually use Golden Fluid Acrylics, but Holbein has some colors Golden doesn't: imidazolone yellow (PY154), imidazolone orange (PO36), imidazolone brown (PBr25), and isoindolinone yellow (PY110). The yellows I was especially interested in, since I'd been depending on Golden's Hansa Yellow Light (PY3) for a lot of my yellows, especially for glazing. Then I saw on Handprint that PY3 is considered marginally lightfast (in watercolor, at any rate), and we all know that glazing can mean a higher probability of fading. I really like the PY154 as a substitute, because it is a similar color and considered very lightfast. The isoindolinone yellow is a wonderful yolk yellow, although it looks orange in the bottle. The imidazolone orange is a great color somewhere between perinone orange (my favorite, which is called Vat Orange in Golden, PO43) and pyrrole orange (PO73). The imidazolone brown is a good addition to browns with a reddish transparent color. The paints are a bit thinner than Golden's, but it could be the pigments themselves. They are more like zinc that way. I am very pleased with them and only wish that Holbein had more colors that Golden doesn't.

great paint horrible containers
from West michigan
I love this paint but, the cheaply made flip cap containers don't close properly and the paint gets all over. I can't figure out why holbein would put their rich paint in such flimsy, cheap bottles.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
