Welcome to dickblick
Developed by Holbein to offer the same high pigment quality and archival characteristics of Holbein's Artists' Oil line while allowing soap-and-water cleanup, Duo Aqua Oils are characterized by rich hues, high chroma, excellent resistance to light, and 17 "Elite" colors that contain heavy metal pigments such as quinacridones, cadmiums and cobalts.
Holbein Duo Aqua Oil Colors can be diluted with water, which creates a "melting" effect. A unique surface active agent helps them dry faster than traditional oils, allowing work to be completed in a shorter period of time.
Holbein Duo Aqua Oils can be mixed with acrylics, watercolors, gouache, and oils, to create a variety of effects and make possible a variety of techniques. They can even be mixed with metallic and pearlescent watercolors to create colors that do not normally exist in oil color palettes. Duo Aqua Oil Colors are no longer watersoluble when mixed with more than 30% traditional oil color.
Because they clean up with soap and water instead of harsh solvents, Duo Aqua Oil Colors are safer than traditional oils for use in the studio or classroom.
Note — Holbein's five "Luminous" colors should not be considered permanent. They will degrade with exposure to ultraviolet light. The lifespan of such works can be expanded greatly if they are shielded from ultraviolet light.

Love these WM Oils!
from Washington DC Suburbs
Comments about Holbein Duo Aqua Water Soluble Oils:
Because I don't want to work in a toxic environment, the WM Oils are a great solution. Holbeins Duo are some of the best, W&N the worst. Holbein's is a bit more expensive than COBRA, but when On sale I get them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The colors really come out with this product, versatile.

I love the way it jazzes up parts on the hummingbird's I paint on glass. I wish the manufacturers could make it light fast. I suppose it will take years before needing a touch up, but it's worth it.
Very nice water-mixable oils
from Media PA
I've been using the Royal Talens Cobra water-mixable oils for awhile but they are impossible to find in retail art stores. I needed a tube of Titanium White and was in the Blick store on 6th Ave in NYC. I picked up a 50 ml tube of Duo Aqua and was very impressed the first time I used it. Seems slightly warmer than the Cobra Titanium and is very opaque. I then ordered a few more basic colors and will begin using them as I finish Cobra tubes. I think they are slightly more expensive but are soft and buttery. Will definitely purchase again.

I paint mainly with Holbein Duo water soluble oils. I think they are convenient and of a high quality nature. I also think that they are priced just about right and love using them because of their creamy texture. I have nothing to say about thngs that aren't so great about it.
I just love these colors....they are just the cat's meow!

Holbein Duo Aqua Water soluable oils are great
from Somers Point, NJ
Checked around and found that Blick's had the best prices and all the colors I was looking for. I use water soluble oils all the time and Duo Aqua are the best. They work just like oils without all the chemicals which I am allergic to. They go on smooth or impasto, whatever way you want. I love them!
