A must have
As so many mentionned these panels are so versatile that every artist should have a bunch of them in different sizes in the studio. They serve million of purposes.I too stretch paper, tape canvas, use it as a palette even as a surface to prime or to glue the artworks on afterwards.

These are an economical smooth painting surface, as well as rigid/flat. I have limited space, and I like that I don't have to store the large paintings flat like with paper, or have them take up as much space as stretched canvas.I removed a star only because of the upc stickers, like a previous reviewer. I saw the Blick response (remove with heat) too late, after I'd removed the stickers with water, leaving the glue behind. Would the heat method have removed the glue as well? I want to gesso/paint overtop of the glue, but I wonder if it'll show through or affect the paint over time. I also don't want to leave a sticky patch on the back of each painting.
I love my art on wood panels

I always take time to prep my panels with PVA size. Although I have never seen anyone do this online, someone once recommended it so I do it!!!! Then I also coat the panels with gesso. I LOVE Gesso!!!! With these two steps I have never had any problems, no warping no nothing! And, as I am an "intense" artist, I scrape, I sand, I scratch....my boards work with me!

The hardboard panels are a little thinner than the ones I cut for myself, however, I don't have to cut them. Table saws frighten me. I think they are a good deal!
Great product for writing on, doing art work, crafting etc. Completely smooth surface with large choice of sizes at a fantastic price. Fast delivery!

These brushes hold just the right amount of water for watercoloring.
Smooth and Sturdy
Used with gesso primer these make great painting surfaces, particularly for classes. Buying in bulk while it is on sale means being able to have smooth, sturdy surfaces in different sizes for classes, plein aire, and studies at a very affordable price.

I used these by inserting them over closet shelves - they extended the shelves and created a great flat file storage. Flat file storage usually cost a fortune.

sturdy backing for art paper and projects
from Worceser, MA
I bought a couple of sizes to back my watercolor paper when I am painting outside. They are very inexpensive, especially compared to other art boards -- I don't need to worry about damaging them. I was pleased with the sturdiness. I wish they had a handhold to make carrying them easier. I'm going to try using a jig saw to cut a handhold.
