Comments about Hardboard Panels:
Great boards but I wish they used a different type of barcode sticker because they are hard to peel off

It must be love
from Pasadena, CA
I first purchased these in a larger size and painting on them. I liked that they were firmer than canvas, and not as expensive. Later on, I started adding clay, and wire, and other items to the canvas, and the boards are super sturdy to hold the additional weight. I love that they come in super small sizes and larger sizes as well. I do not see it anywhere else except Blick Art Materials. Thank you.

Used as an inexpensive support to tape down my watercolors to. I have multiples so I can work on several pieces at a time and set them aside while waiting for it to dry. I don't use a super wet technique on them but am considering waterproofing a few for that purpose.
I started using these for all my high school painting classes and it's been a perfect solution. The hardboard panels are priced well enough that my students each have their own, and they can use it as they wish throughout the semester, without me having to worry about the upkeep. They hold up for about 8-10 watercolor paintings (with stretching paper and using gummed tape) and then about 8 acrylic. The final project is to do a texture painting on their hardboard panel. If you are doing more watercolor and will be using tape to stretch paper, these do start deteriorating after a few projects.
This is the second time I've purchased these here. I use them for my acrylic painting and they make a wonderful surface to paint on. Mostly I wanted them for practice but I found they are perfect for a gift or just for myself. I glue a D ring on the back and that's how I hang them on the wall. Perfect!

I like them

I like the Ampersand brand better but for the price it's hard to pass up on! Great to put gesso or oil ground on and use for plein air...

A nice steady surface to use as a drawing board, surface to tape watercolor paper to so I can do my watercolor paintings, etc.
Works well for the price
I bought the 9x12 and 6x6 for taping my paper to for watercolors. They work really well and take up hardly any space in my craft area. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is getting into water coloring.
I love my panel! I use it for watercolor projects.I love the size I purchased (6x6) and I find lots of purposes to use it for!
