Welcome to dickblick
This paper is mouldmade in Germany. It's a 100% alpha cellulose, duo-surface paper, with a laid, toothy texture on one side, and a smooth texture on the other, which offers the artist a choice. Hahnemühle Bugra is specifically made for pastels and charcoal, but it works well for pencils, graphite, and other drawing mediums.
Sheets are 65 lb (130 gsm) weight, neutral pH, highly lightfast, and measure 33" × 41" (84 cm × 104 cm).
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

Beautiful and sturdy paper

Comments about Hahnemühle Hahnemühle Bugra Pastel Paper:
I was looking for a high-quality drawing paper that is large and comes in various sizes. I was so happy when this paper arrived in the mail! It feels very thick and sturdy, and the colors are beautiful. I use soft colored pencils, and this paper works beautifully for me.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for my Pastels and Charcoals
from Wichita, Kansas
I have told other people about Dick Blick art materials and still well. I love the way the paper feels and the way it holds it color as well. I would buy more of it as well in the months to come as well. It is great for Pastels and Charcoals and knowing that they very. Large there more to do and it makes it more fun to work with the paper as well. So "YES" I would tell others about the use of these paper and more and show them my work on the paper after it was finished as well to give them a better incite. The size gives the option to work big and free, or cut to fit smaller.
Nice paper, great packing
from Ventura County, CA
The best thing is that the paper arrived flat, not rolled in a very well packed carton. For large paper it is sometimes tricky to get the paper undamaged.
I've used this paper exclusively for charcoal drawings so, I can't speak to it's effectiveness for pastel. Although a bit "spendy", it's the only paper I'll use. The paper is smooth enough for detail yet holds up well for heavy erasing and redrawing - very tough. I've always purchased individual sheets and with the exception of "archive" which has a different texture than the others, I have been happy with the color selection. Wish the pads came in larger sizes.

Will never purchase again...
I'm a professional artist...purchased this because of other reviews...I work with soft and medium pastels...the paper did not allow more than one layer of pastel and it did not take well to that!!! The paper seems to be best for a pencil sketch... maybe...
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
