Grumbacher's signature line of professional oil and acrylic brushes are made of Chungking hog bristle. Natural flags and interlocked construction preserve the natural curve of the bristle.

Every Gainsborough brush is handmade to ensure a high level of quality. Each one incorporates a nickel ferrule and a long wooden handle.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.

Over fifty years of using Gainsborough brushes has me singing its praises. When a brush washes up and retains a flat shape each time, it means I want to keep using this brand. I highly recommend it to my students. Happy that it is now available.
