Not what it used to be.

Comments about Grumbacher Gainsborough Brushes:
Over the years I have used the Grumbacher Gainsborough without question for my oils. Recent purchases show the bristle was too long, floppy and lacking in body - just plain flimsy. I found them to be useless and won't ever buy them again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A hard to find brush found on this website. As far as I'm concerned, hogs hair brushes are the only brushes for acrylic painting (large canvasses that is). thanks for carrying this product.

Comments about Grumbacher Gainsborough Flat:
These are traditionally used with oils and acrylics, but I use them for watercolor. Man are they thirsty! These brushes hold a lot of water. Great for graded washes. The handles are a beautiful emerald green color. I wish they came in a short handle version, but I guess that's what I get for using them in a non-traditional fashion.
a fabulous brush that gives stellar performance!

A Fan of these FANS.

Comments about Grumbacher Gainsborough Fan:
These fan brushes are great for painting Evergreens. The brush works well for softly blending colors. They clean up easily and retain their shape.
they hold up well

These brushes seem to hold up well to hard use. I am quite rough with my brushes on occasion, like to scrub the paint into the canvas. I get upset, however, particularly when a brush loses a hair on the canvas. These brushes seem to be more reliable in that way. I am now going to try the blick brushes against them (bristle) and see how they do. Will let you know.
This was a gift for my 7 year old nephew and he loves it! It's easy to use and durable .
