I bought these along side a couple of M. Graham watercolors to start a full watercolor palette. I had recently used the companies student quality line and was impresses so I assumed these would be even better. THEY AREN'T. The paint is a really pasty or lumpy consistency and in many of my tubes i found myself squeezing out more yellowish medium than I did paint. Aside from that when painting with them the paint does not disperse and smooth out as watercolor should, instead it dries with little spots here and there. When compared with the M. Grahams I bought along side them which I had little to no expectations for I was very disappointed. There's better paints out there for equal value.

I recently bought my first Grumbacher watercolors, and I find them very richly colored, and true to the picture in the catalog. I just started using them and I am very pleased. I certainly will be buying more of these in the future.

These watercolors are more "solid" as in, most colors seem to be more opaque than many of the other brands. This is good to know because if you want very transparent colors you will likely find them in other, more transparent brands. Still--I like them and I use them. They offer decent hues and very good coverage. I buy them when the price is right.

Grumbacher is a very high quality watercolor paint that is perhaps under appreciated by many of today's artists. I find several of the colors in this line to be superior to those in every other brand I've tried. Plus, the paint is easy to work with. An excellent American-made product that I cannot recommend more highly!

The paints are perfect for the waterclass I am taking. In my class my teacher said she buys her products from Blick and so did others. I athough had never heard of the company until I received a catalog and bought my watercolors at a great price I was glad to hear others buy from this company also.

I squeeze it into my palette well and let it harden.
Grumbacher doesn't take much paint for opacity and
can be scrubbed off pretty easy. I can't think of anything
unfavorable about this product.
