Welcome to dickblick
These brushes contain seven different professional-grade mixed synthetic filaments with natural flagged tips and interlocked construction. The filaments are fastened into seamless, rustproof nickel-plated brass ferrules and long, stained woodgrain handles to create these versatile brushes.
Degas brushes are stiff enough to push heavy-body acrylics and oil, yet supple enough for the most delicate glazes.
Bright and Flat — A Bright is a short flat brush that absorbs less color and has a stiffer stroke. A Flat is longer than a Bright and is consequently more flexible at the tip.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

Comments about Grumbacher Degas Long Handle Synthetic Brushes Series 930:
I ordered a bright in this brush and wish I had ordered a long flat. It is very stiff but seems well made and will be good for big jobs where something too "moppy" would make a mess. The edge is fairly crisp, which I prefer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Series 930 Grumbacher Degas Brush
from Youngstown, Ohio
I came across this in an old painting book about David Leffel's work and thought I would try it. I find the firmness combined with smooth true strokes to be just what I was looking for in a brush. I had only purchased 2 sizes, but if it continues to perform as it has, I will be trying some of the larger sizes as well. Great job by Grumbacher and great price by Blick.

I have just recently taken up learning to paint with acrylics, and these brushes are excellent. I am very happy to have chosen these first, over all the many varieties there are to choose from, which has a certain risk of getting something awful or not up to par. Not so with these brushes! I will definitely get these again when it is necessary to replace the ones I have now.

great replacement for black sable
I wanted a synthetic replacment for my black sable (fitch) brushes for blending and glazing. Natural hair is nice but it is too thick, splays out which makes controlling edges impossible, its expensive, and I prefer not to kill a little animal for my art. I just received and tried this brush but based on my brief trial I'm sure this brush is a great substitute. It glazes beautifully, with better control than natural hair. Factor in the lower price and longer life of synthetic and you have a winner.
