For all of its usefulness, acetate does cause a few headaches — ink that won't stay, a yellow or grayish cast to old acetate, edges that curl. The alternatives are expensive and sometimes just don't suit the purpose.
Dura-Lar is the acetate alternative. It combines the best features of Mylar and acetate, and offers a variety of products so that you can purchase the film that suits your needs precisely. It is always consistent in color and overall clarity, and won't discolor with age.
Dura-Lar is archival quality, safe for overlaying artwork, and it lays flat. It will remain dimensionally stable for as long as you need.
This is Ultra-light acetate, designed for protecting artwork from dust and dampness, while allowing complete, unobstructed viewing.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

Comments about Grafix Wrap Dura-Lar Rolls:
I needed to mat and protect a number of large water colors for an upcoming show. As they were going to be displayed in a sling rack, I didn't want fingerprints all over the mats as people searched through my offerings. This product made the perfect "envelope" wrap. Thin enough to be very flexible, it folder over and sealed easily. A hearty recommendation!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this product to wrap my pastel art after it is completed. It's perfect for protecting art work and the customer can see the art since it is a clear wrap. It's important that my work gets put behind glass so it does not smear. So this is what I have always used so my work can arrive safely at a frame shop.
Great photographer's aid

I use this under negatives when printing cyanotype, platinum, gum, and other "alt" processes. It does a great job protecting the negatives without affecting exposure. It's perfectly clear and smooth, and cheap enough to use one shot.I only wish it's also available in pads - cutting is not hard but tedious if you needed just small pieces. The thicker varieties work almost as well, but I prefer the thinnest.

We cover the dust jackets of our books in our book store. Dur-Lar is easy to work with and protects the dust jackets from shelf wear while it enhances the appearance of our store. The forty inch roll can be cut in half to provide us with two twenty inch rolls which are more than wide enough for almost every size of book.

I used this acetate for a show at my college. i had heard that .05 was too hard and that .03 was too flimsy and yada yada, but i found this to be the easiest to work with and had the nicest and clearest quality. it really formed around the artwork without any problems and was very smooth. i would'nt buy any other brand or size!

Clear archival protection that's virtually invisible unlike many other acetate coverings.
