Not that great
By Colorado Art Teacher
This product has problems buckling in the middle. Even using something to flatten it out after it comes out of the oven, it still does not lay flat.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Great product that is versatile and fun.Although it is not listed as safe for printers/photocopiers, I had no problems printing hundreds on the rough side. (small error rate) This made a wonderful advertising/outreach gift.I totally recommended this product and thank Dick Blick for carrying it..

This shrink plastic is awesome for our art projects in the high school. We use it for mini Monets and decorations for detail.. It holds a range of medium on it like chalk pastel, felt pen, pencil etc.

Grafix sanded film 50 pcs.

Pre-sanded shrink film is a great time saver. Colored pencils and sharpie style markers work wonderfully. I also experimented with this product and discovered that it can be used in a laserjet printer! Just make certain to set the printer to lowest DPI/contrast. Great, Fun Product - Some Suggestions...
from Upstate NY
I teach art groups with a very wide range of skills and abilities. I heard of Shrinkfilm and had to try it myself- So glad I did! It was so much fun to watch the drawings and designs shrink into super detail- Loved that you can come up with your own designs and leave it up to your imagination! I bought a 50-pack of the clear film, a larger qty pack is recommended because there is a going to be a learning curve at first- some hits and some misses- before you get the knack of it. When we began I had a 50% success rate, but by the end of the pack we really honed in on the process (made necklaces, earrings, keychains, window art designs w/ suction cups, you name it!) and it got to be about 95% guarenteed to come out right. I'm glad I didn't just get 6 sheets while learning, I would have felt more frustrated with the product I'm sure. ***Package recommends materials: colored pencil, or permanent markers or rubber stamping. I did not try stamping but we tried both colored pencil (after sanding one side surface to rough it up) and permanent marker. COLORED PENCIL is recommended, colors turn out bright and beautiful and is more permanent. **PERMANENT MARKER is not!** Colors sometimes stick off onto velum paper and will turn out very dark, (unless to be hung on lighted window, then beautiful) - but also most people's beautiful marker artwork (necklaces and key chains) completely rubbed off within the week!! You MUST spray with clear finishing spray for it to last- the instructions do not say this.***ADDITIONAL TIPS & TRICKS:Also- If cut out designs were very long and narrow or had appendages (ie. legs on an animal) they seemed more likely to curl up on themselves when baking - I found I had to use an extra sheet and several additional strips of the velum paper to weight it down.-If designs were half a sheet or larger, they were very difficult to shrink successfully, often came out warped and not entirely flat.-Helpful to have a flat metal knife or spatula on hand! As soon as it pretty much flattens in oven, pull it out quickly- if warped or bubbled, you will have a few seconds to press it completely flat before it permanently hardens.-Had more accuracy in my toaster oven than a large oven. Also, Get extra sheets to play and experiment before using it for something that is more crucial.I'm going to order the matte 50-pack next and stick to colored pencil this time- Fun Stuff,we're hooked!
