I made tree ornaments. The product printed nicely, and wasn't that hard to cut, but that's where the good comments end. The image really distorted when baked: it pulls along the long axis. It took much longer than it said in the directions for the product to flatten, and sometimes it never did. I started with a complex design, and had to dumb it down to practically nothing. I wasted a lot of product before I got anything I could use.

If you are cutting just simple shapes, it's OK, if you don't care that squares turn into rectangles and circles into ovals.

Unfortunately the brand I used before is no longer made.

I recently ordered Grafix's ink jet-printable shrink film. I was dissatisfied with the quality of this product. In level of importance, here are my issues with it...

-The plastic gets a pebble-like surface as it shrinks, not a smooth one.
-Because of this, printed lines aren't as crisp and clean.
-The edges puff out a bit, creating a slight sandwich effect.
-Color skews green, making some images a little muddy in tone.
-Images are distorted. The instructions mention this, and give hints to help it from happening, but over several batches, distortion was still more apparent than with the other brand of shrink film I've used.

I do like the 8.5 x 11 sheets, and the fact that they come 10 to a pack instead of 6. Overall, I think Grafix Shrink film might work fine for a fun art lesson with kids, but for professional crafting purposes, I'd go with another brand.

I bought the clear, smooth both sides to use as shrink plastic.
No directions...u have 2 experiment w/ degrees. When i use the lower temp directions on the shrinky dink site, this plastic bubbles & twists...hard to impossible to flatten out.
However I did have one batch that turned out nice and flat. (don't know what the difference was though. I used markers and they worked great w/ this plastic. 50 full sheets, so plenty to experiment with.

If you made Shrinky Dinks in the 70's, this product can be printed in a Bubble Jet/Ink Jet printer at home, cut out, and cooked in the oven to produce really fun plastic tags, jewelry, pendants, toys...
