Welcome to dickblick
Frisket film is essential for work that requires controlled application. Frisk film is a transparent, matte, masking film, compatible with almost all surfaces. Frisk film is perfect for light protection, pre-cut stenciling, and on-the-artwork masking and cutting.
It is easy to peel, and leaves no residue on the board. It's backed by a translucent paper for ease in handling.

not what it used to be
I used to use "friskit" back in the early 90's in art school. This new version is brittle.leaves residue and not curve friendly. I do not recommend.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Best Frisket film
from Lynchburg VA
I use this on cold press watercolor paper to seal off fairly large areas. It works better than the others. You have to be careful pulling it off. If it sticks to itself it will pull of pieces that you don't want to remove.

The backing on this was too opaque - when I laid it over a drawing, my guides were not visible. The product is too thin and tears easily when the backing is being removed, and is too sticky - if it touches another part of itself it is a total loss due to tearing and wrinkling. Might be good for some applications, but not mine.

Very good frisket film
I use frisket films with chalk pastels in a way very similar to what an air brusher or a painter would use it. I have used a few other films before that were cheaper, but this is the best brand I have have ever tried. The extra stick is very much needed in my work since the edges get rubbed against as I apply the pastels and blend them. This brand holds up the best.

Best frisket i can find
from Milford, DE
I airbrush watercolors, gouache, acrylics less so. Using a burnishing tool, adhesive seals well. Less edge leaks than other frisket. But beware, dont lay this frisket over itself. There will be hell to pay getting them apart.
