It is easy to peel and leaves no residue on the board. It's backed by a translucent paper for handling ease and is perfect for light protection, pre-cut stenciling, and on-the-artwork masking and cutting.

I love this frisket film. It is easy to apply and works as it is designed. I am mixed-media artist and I use it to mask off areas of my drawings and paintings before I spray paint the background. I have found no other product that works aw well.

Trouble with Grafix frisket
from Lafayette, IN
I applied a base coat of Com-Art opaque white to my project. I then applied the Grafix frisket and cut out my pattern. I painted my pattern and removed the frisket about a day later. The frisket left a coating of glue on my white base coat. The mildest thing I found to remove the glue was alchol and that removed the paint also. What a mess! I will not use this product again.I used 3M Highland 2727 masking tape elsewhere on this same project with no problem.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This stuff is TERRIBLE and much too expensive for the shoddy job that it achieves. As others noted, it leaves a sticky mess behind and did not prevent my ink from seeping underneath the film. I will return to slathering on my smelly liquid frisket until there is a usable alternative available.
Merchant response: Our Product Experts would be happy to see if we may help you select an alternative product for your masking needs. We are available M-F from 8:00am to 5:30pmCST and can be reached at 1-800-933-2542. Thank you for taking time out to share your feedback!

THE RESIDUE COMES OFF AND STICKS TO YOUR SURFACE!
from Decatur, IL
I am a professional artist and use this for airbrushing. I have used this frisket film for about 10 years, and years ago it was great. But something has happened to the quality over the past few years and the adhesive comes off the film and sticks behind to the surface I am painting! Then you have to get it off without ruining your surface. It is TERRIBLE, but seems to be the only in the main art stores. I will have to get a different brand online.
Merchant response: Thank you for sharing with us. We have passed your comments on to our Product Managers for review. If you would like assistance selecting an alternative mask, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information team at 1-800-933-2542.

Always leaves residue
By JK, Student Artist
from Berkeley, CA
My teacher recommended our class to use frisket film on our artwork in order to achieve crisp lines. However, every time I use the all-purpose masking film (Matte, .002 low tack), it always leaves residue behind. The film is extremely sticky and very difficult to cut through.
from San Diego, CA
This stuff wiull destroy any and all paper artwork. You can rub it on your skin to lower the tack, or aply and reapply it to a sample piece of paper, but you still will have damage done to your art work. Plane and simpliy, do not use this stuff. Graphic knows the problem and don't care to fix it anyt time soon.

Too tacky & leaves adhesive residue
from Westminster, MD
I do India ink airbrush on watercolor paper. This stuff is tough to slice through, leaves adhesive residue that causes white spots in darkly-sprayed areas and it pulls up the paper when removed with anything but EXTREME care. I returned the unused portion for refund.
