Comments about Golden Special Iridescent Acrylics:
I use this as an underpainting with soft pastels. I like the grit, and I love the sparkle. The grey is nice and neutral.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love the results if not the application. The special effects add amazing texture without coming too far off the surface or being overly heavy on the canvas.
Mika flakes present you with countless possibilities for use

I had only just recently tried the iridescent flakes and have been having a blast with them. They really make my pairings feel more upscale.Thought I would give the gold ones a go - still playing around with them, figuring out the right background color to use - but can tell it's going to help me create something fantastic.I def recommend trying small jars of all of the different Golden mediums - so you can find the ones best for you. Never gone wrong with any Golden product! The quality truly is hard to beat.

Not What I Was Expecting
I previously purchased the large gold mica flakes from Golden and was very pleased. So I decided to try this product (Pearl Mica Flake Small) and frankly I am underwhelmed.Looking at the preview picture provided in the product description I expected this product to have a silver pearlescent suspension and pearl colored, irregular flakes.Upon drying, the product looks *exactly* like silver glitter used in crafts. Nothing wrong with silver glitter, but for the price and considering it comes from the Golden brand, I expected something more special.I am dissapointed because I expected a unique product to add to my paintings -- Something a little more interesting than what it looks like ordinary silver glitter.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Interesting effects using as detail or background in abstract acrylic painting. Planning to use it on craft items also.
Awesome product - spectacular service!
I love this medium, so sparkly unlike a regular metallic paint. Does have a texture-sandpaper like-but worked perfectly over black paint to give dimension. I accidentally ordered the wrong item and when I called customer service they rush shipped out the correct item so I could finish my project on time. Got it the NEXT DAY. Love this company!

High-lights in a picture or background are very effective. But that can easily be overdone. If painting a special greeting card you can generally use as much as you like especially on kids cards. They love it. In abstract pieces they can provide the center of attention (or one of them). They make nice poured pieces to use in collage.

I have the black, small pearl and large gold mica flakes and they are absolutely exceptional. It takes a little adjustment to work with the larger flake; I found the addition of some soft gloss gel helped as there is a generous quantity of the flake in the product. The pearl gives an ethereal look and the black is perfect for working into nooks and crannies on mixed media pieces or assemblage. It also is a nice touch in drawings or watercolors for an aged effect.Buy the small jars first to see how far they go with your method of work~~they are highly pigmented and a little goes a long way.
