Use polymer and matte mediums to extend and thin acrylic paints, while promoting even flow and leveling, and maintaining the film's stability. Mix gloss and matte mediums to create a custom satin finish.

Polymer (Gloss) Medium — A general purpose liquid for glazes, extending colors, enhancing gloss, and increasing film integrity. It's oil-like and resinous, promoting flow and leveling.

Fluid Matte Medium — a liquid medium for extending colors, decreasing gloss, and increasing film integrity. Works well with Golden Fluid Acrylics.

Matte Medium — This is a general purpose, pourable medium, for extending color, decreasing gloss, and increasing film integrity. It can also be used to create a clear ground, instead of gesso.

Great for collage

This is wonderful for collage. I just learned a technique in which all materials are coated front and back with this medium. Then you can assemble everything you need, and instead of using liquid glue, tack it down with a tacking iron and everything is solidly in place with no liquid glue to make things buckle.

Also great for image transfers: put 3 layers on the photocopy in question, tack down, and then use water to take the paper off the image. Then another coat of polymer medium makes it shine! Works best with laser copies or ink jet on presentation paper.

I used to wonder if it was worthwhile to spend a bit more for the Golden polymer medium, but after working with this and becoming familiar with it, I can appreciate the clarity of the medium compared with some others on the market. It's nice to know that Golden continues to research and improve its products.

I use this product in between each each application of paint. I put on one layer, then let it dry, then apply the next layer of paints and after this is dry, apply one layer of Golden Polymer, and keep up this process until the finished look is achieved. I end up with 3 or 4 layers of paints and Polymer. The finished painting is then covered with UV protective glossy finish.
