Golden Interference and Iridescent Heavy Body Acrylics add an exciting range of options to your creative repertoire. Used alone, or mixed with other acrylic paints, they enable you to achieve color effects that are truly spectacular.
Interference colors "flip" between a bright opalescent and its complement, depending on the angle of the viewer. Relatively transparent, they allow artists the ability to glaze with unique effects. Add gels for impasto texture or thin with mediums. Try adding a very small amount of black to produce deeper, richer, opalescent effects.
Iridescent colors synthetically reproduce natural phenomena, such as the nacreous quality of fish scales and butterfly wings, or the pearlescent effects of certain metals and minerals. When mixed traditional colors and mediums, they impart a luminous quality. "Coarse" colors employ a larger reflective particle size in comparison to "Fine" colors.

Special Iridescent Acrylics
Mica Flakes, Coarse Alumina, and Micaceous Iron Oxide: These special iridescent colors add a sparkly touch or a distinct texture! These extraordinary colors are created by mixing assorted mica partials with gel medium. The Micaceous Iron Oxide, with its rich simmer color and gritty surface, makes a glorious ground for pastels. Palette knife application is recommended.

Iridescence and Interference Helped
from florida ( Pensacola)
Comments about Golden Interference and Iridescent Heavy Body Acrylics:
Painted picture of the Blitz, at night and the use of the iridescent white over white really helped a very dark picture. Not a happy subject but it was by request. I also used the mica iron oxide which gave depth. very happy with products performance.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am still learning but your imagination is the only drawback. Just finished a painting with spotlights with huge beams and painted a thin layer of iridescent white and it has made the whole picture pop. It was a painting of the blitz over London at night and it was a very dark painting but the addition of the iridescence on the white was what it needed. Motion.
high quality product.
I used on acrylic painting, and in fluid acrylic painting.

I used this product to give shine and brilliance to my paintings

I bought this to apply to the edges of a metal leaves on a branch wall decor. It arrived very plain and I painted the leaves colors to match my bedspread but it needed something around the edges of the leaves to make it pop. This item did the trick. It picks up the light and sparkles and just really made the difference in this wall art. It is very easy to apply and I have several projects I can use this on. Blick shipped very fast and the transaction was great in all ways. Happy customer!

Gold Mica Flake (Large) No. 4078 Review
This stuff is really neat! I love the effect you can get with it so the product itself is pretty nice. The only working issue I ran into is that the gel is pretty heavy and even though it dries pretty clear it still gives a hazy effect where it looks like you slathered gloss way too thick. I'm sure some fiddling during application can help fix this but it is a little annoying. Plus, not only were there the metallic flakes but there is also small solid pebble like chunks of I'm not sure what. It almost looks like brick or terra-cotta ..very odd. Some even so small that I'd call powdery (perhaps what's causing the hazy effect overall of the gel?) It does add some neat variation and changed up my project because of it..but still not at all what expected. The most disappointing issue is that the color does not look at all like described. I really wouldn't consider this gold--at least not the kind of gold thats shown. It's more copper-ish. Maybe a dark renaissance gold if you want to try to keep it in the gold family? Definitely NOT the light yellow-ish platinum gold the website shows. I don't know if I just got a miss-matched batch or what because it is WAY off. So while it's probably not the greatest option for the original plan I had, I still think this is a neat product to have in your supply arsenal for neat effects. Just be warned that the color is not how it appears online and that there's also some chunks of other stuff in there.

Color once dry striaght from the jar. You can even see the biggest "terra cotta" type chunk behind the front right hoof that's out of focus. You can see it better in the full photo.
After going over with a light touch of a gold paint marker--it's still pretty copper-orangey and again..that piece of terra cottay type substance behind the front right hoof.
