Use Golden's GAC Mediums to achieve complete technical control over your acrylic paints and painting environment. GAC Mediums are the raw materials from which other acrylic mediums are created. Use them to modify the working characteristics and appearance of Golden Acrylics and other acrylic paints.
Golden's other acrylic mediums are a blend of GAC mediums, the raw polymers themselves, with each other, and with other structural elements such as gels or powdered marble dust.
GAC 100: Universal Acrylic Polymer
useful for diluting and extending colors, as well as increasing flexibility and film integrity. Wets out solids more readily than other polymers, and is useful for artists making their own paints.
GAC 200: Acrylic Polymer for Increasing Film Hardness
The hardest and least flexible polymer. Mix with acrylic paints to increase film hardness and reduce dry film tack. Useful for adhering acrylic paints to nonporous surfaces such as glass or plastic. Dries to a clear, gloss finish.
GAC 400: Acrylic Polymer for Stiffening Fabrics
Dries to a hard, stiff film. Allows artists to transform lightweight fabrics into freestanding forms.
GAC 500: Acrylic Polymer for Self-Leveling Applications
Adds a self-leveling working quality, and dries to a high gloss with good transparency. Increases mar resistance, and decreasing dry film tack.
GAC 800: Acrylic Polymer for Reducing Craze
Use when puddles must dry with the same evenness and smoothness as when wet. Other GAC polymers will "craze" when drying, developing shrinkage crevices across the surface. GAC 800 dries with good gloss and flexibility but with moderate clarity. Also ideal for priming chalky surfaces.
GAC 900: Acrylic Polymer for Clothing Artists
Blend with acrylic colors to produce fabric paints. When heat-set properly, it offers a very soft hand and laundering stability. Caution — provide adequate ventilation when using GAC 900 as the heat-setting releases low levels of formaldehyde.

Many projects start with Gac100 then layer other products over it once it has dried
from Hickman, NE
I am mixing this with Golden Acrylic paints to apply onto a fiberglass sculpture to be displayed outdoors
I have been using this medium for SID and feel confident I won't have any discolorations.
Great way to thin acrylic colors when needed.
from Everglade City, FL
I used the heavy acrylic colors to paint a mural on a propane tank at Fisherman's Cove in Florida. I used the polymer to thin my paint when needed instead of water. I wanted to make sure that the paints remained intense with less chance of fade in the hot summer sun.
Easy to work with
Mixing it with acrylic paint on fiberglass sculpture for outdoors
Great on Gold Leaf
from Indian Rocks Beach, FL
Bought this product to apply on gold leaf after a coat of Golden Archival Spray Varnish. It greatly prepares the surface to paint with acrylic.
The best in the business!!!!!
from Ventura, CA
Golden mediums are the absolute best, they brush on great and they also spray well thru both my airbrushes and spray guns!!!!!!
Always a staple with my collection of acrylic paints
from Baton Rouge, LA
Excellent for lowering viscosity of acrylic paints and for making your own.
I use this for acrylic pours. I've tried the Liquitex as well and that left canyons in the paint when it dried. I buy the GAC800 by the gallon now, it's a lot cheaper in bulk.
