Breaks the surface tension of water, increasing its ability to soak into porous surfaces. This allows the acrylic painter to achieve rich stains on surfaces such as watercolor paper and unprimed canvas.

No warning flow release
Comments about Golden Acrylic Flow Release:
I became unhappy with Acrylic Flow Release when I received it and read all the warnings on the label. It's highly toxic and poisonous to get on your hands. What? I get everything on my hands. It also requires careful measuring and must be added to water. If I'd known either from the description on the web site, I would not have purchased it. When I called to ask why the warning and need to measure and mix was not in the description A nice lady explained that I had to click on a tiny icon near the price. What? I didn't know that and frankly, with something this toxic, I would expect a warning somewhere. Now I need to get rid of it during one of those neighborhood toxic waste days (I didn't feel the cost of mailing it back worth the refund.)
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

alternative to oxgall
By lost her marbles
I read on another marbler's blog that this can be used as a replacement to oxgall as a dispersant agent for acrylic paints used in paper marbling. It does a great job, it's easy to use (the bottle nozzle tip allows the dispersant to be added very sparingly) and has no foul odor. I am delighted to give up oxgall.

I'm impressed so far
from New City, NY
I thought I'd try it because as someone who prefers to work with watercolor and gouache, and I was frustrated with how heavy body acrylics are not as fluid. I put a few drops in my water and it made the flow much nicer. A little goes a long way and I'm not disappointed.
