Welcome to dickblick
These markers are similar to felt tip pens, and can be used on bisque. They're easy to use — just push down on the tip until it is saturated and the pen is ready to decorate.
Do not use on greenware. The unfired clay will moisten from the underglaze, breaking down the tip of the marker.
Glaze-Eze markers also work well as an overglaze. They are permanent once fired, even without a clear glaze over them.
Midnight, Gold, and Rose Pink may be fired from Cone 06–5 (1828°F–2167°F, 998°C–1186°C) to prevent discoloration. All other colors may be fired between Cone 06–10 (1828°F–2340°F, 998°C–1282°C) without color burn out.

Not that great
from Vineland, NJ
I have yet to make this product work. Basically, there is liquid underglaze in the body of the pen, and a tip that submerges into the liquid and is supposed to become "coated" with the liquid. After about 10 minutes of repeatedly pressing the tip in-and-out of the pen, there is a partial coating of glaze, but not enough to "write" with. It would be much easier to get a fine-tip brush and simply paint on some glaze. The best "writing" solution is probably still an underglaze pencil.
Merchant response: Thank you for your review! For best results, push the tip down onto a surface (tabletop, piece of paper, or anything, as long as the tip is pointing downward), and hold for a few seconds until you see liquid start to emerge. Then release the nib, and wait while the liquid saturates the nib. Then the marker should be ready to go, with only occasional priming necessary to start the underglaze flowing again. If these steps don't solve the problem, please give our Product Specialists a call at 1-800-933-2542. They're available 8am to 5:30pm CST Monday through Friday, and they're happy to troubleshoot further.
Don't Waste Money on These

This is the second time I've bought a Glaz-Eze Underglaze Marker in two years, and on both occasions the liquid ceramic underglaze inside them was completely dried out. No matter what I did the marker didn't work. I suspect the problem is that these markers sit on the vendor's shelf for too long and dry out. Waste your money or time on this product.
Merchant response: We are sorry to hear that your marker arrived dried out. Our Product Manager has been alerted and our Warehouse team will be reviewing our stock. A member of our Customer Care team is happy to help you with a return and will be in touch. Please do not hesitate to call us if receive an item that is damaged or defective.
Does not work well at all
from Cincinnati, Ohio
It takes forever to get the paint to move to the tip and when it does start coming out it's inconsistent at best. We ordered so we can write on bisque easier but it barely comes out and its a very wide tip so defeats the purpose of using as a writer or detailer.
Merchant response: Thank you for sharing your experience with this product. We are sorry to hear that it was defective and did not meet your needs. Our Customer Care team is happy to help you with a return or exchange for any defective markers you may have received. Please give us a call at 1.800.723.2787. If you are looking for a fine line, you may be interested in trying the underglaze pencils.

Product not as described
from New Jersey
This product was described as a Sharpee and that is not accurate. It was hard to get glaze to felt tip. Product may be old. I am returning them.

Glaz-Eze Underglaze Markers
It is great for bold lines but it would be great to have a FINE LINE MARKER version as the pencil seems not to outline very well

Thicker than a sharpie
from fresno ca
The pens take a while to "load" with the "ink". They write very large like when your child has been playing with the sharpies and has mashed the end. They do write fair when you get them primed. But they don't write like a regular pen.
