Great for removing graphite, pencil and charcoal in subtractive drawing techniques. Kneaded erasers can be shaped for precision erasing and creating highlights. Available in three sizes, these kneaded erasers are latex-free, lanolin-free, and PVC-free.

These are terrible!
from Salem, Utah
This is the worst kneaded eraser I have ever used and I am a high school art teacher so I have used a lot of kneaded erasers. I bought them for my high school students but they just are causing so many problems I going to have to buy them all another brand. It is sticky, erases poorly and doesn't clean up well. Trust me, spend a bit more and get a different brand!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good quality and versatile.
I used to love this brand because the erasers were strong enough to mold into a point and "draw" highlights, etc. when working with charcoal. But suddenly these erasers are so sticky and overly-pliable that the molded point actually bends over when trying to highlight due to their softness. One of the better erasers has become the worst I've ever used.
Essential for sketching

Kneaded erasers are essential for sketching, especially for lifting dark mediums like charcoal. General's is a trusted brand. They work great.

best eraser to use for subtractive art
A flexible tool for drawing!

I have used these erasers for about 30 years now. I enjoy the fact that one can use them to erase small as well as large areas. My art students have enjoyed them, too. Although, they aren't a toy, one can pull and twist to help them 'erase' within themselves. A good deal. And, they'll last for a long time.
Nice colors, easy to blend
I have used this mostly for sketching so far. The colors blend together nicely and are very bright. They are also very hard to break.
Not what I have experienced with kneaded rubber erasers in the past. It is crumbly and just breaks apart when I try to knead it. If I try to make a little thin edge, as I have done in the past with my Faber Castel kneaded eraser, the whole thing crumbles. Not usable.
I alwaiys buy kneaded erasers

I do a lot of watercolor painting of flowers. I find the kneaded eraser to be invaluable in removing pencil lines of my initial drawing.
