Welcome to dickblick
Draw and paint at the same time with these strong-lead, water-soluble colored pencils. Colors are vibrant, blendable, and respond like watercolor when wet.
Blend color with a brush, draw directly into washes, dip pencils into water for intense color, or make your own "dry pencil palette" by sketching and then lifting color with a brush. Pencils are pre-sharpened.
General's Kimberly Watercolor Pencils are made in the USA.

Fantastic materials, ideal for students with brush control issues. These will last nice and long if you keep good pencil sharpeners.

I keep a journal and wanted something I could sketch with and do watercolor with. This was the perfect solution. I like the color choices. Easy to use. Perfect for the person who just putzes around.

Dissolve nicely with brush and water

In comparison to other brands, general offers the best quality product for the classroom budget. I use these with my AP students and you can't beat the quality. They dissolve completely with water and brush.
Versatile and user friendly

Students enjoy using these pencils both wet and dry to add color to their notebook and journal homework. They are easy to use and add just enough color to work so as not to overwhelm the presentation. Activating the colors with water adds a new dimension to the medium as well. These watercolor pencils are a great value, provide a wide range of effects and are just plain fun to use. They were the first thing students grab when asked to add color to their line drawings and writing.

Great wet or dry
from West Coast
Submitted this once, did not show up even a week later. Trying again.I have used these pencils for many colored pencil drawings of wildlife, mostly birds. Non-artists ooh and ahh over the colors and how beautiful they are. Artists ask if I used prismacolor or other much more expensive brands. These go down smoothly and blend nicely. I can layer several different colors, and they sharpen well with a simple hand-held sharpener - also General's.I just recently used them as watercolor pencils, always using them dry before. They work just as beautifully this way. I made my drawing as usual using the pencils dry, then went over with a moderately to minimally dry brush. Voila! A lovely watercolor effect with less mess and much more precision, which is what I prefer for detailed wildlife art.The results are wonderful, wet or dry, and the price is outstanding. It's a USA brand as well. The only down side is that you can't buy individual pencils, so I end up with extras of the colors I don't use much. But that's a minor issue for the quality and the price.
