Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors are crafted by hand with the well-being of artists, their work, and the environment in mind. True to historic working properties, yet safer and more permanent, they combine the best traditions of the past with the latest technical innovations, giving you the freedom to create without compromise.
Made with the finest grades of pigment available (yes, there are differences), Gamblin Artist's Oils have luscious working properties, and each color possesses unique characteristics in terms of texture, undertone, and tinting strength. The range of colors includes both historically accurate paints and modern, synthetically derived hues. For everything from traditional realism to contemporary abstraction, you'll find your ideal colors within the Gamblin line.
All Gamblin Artist's Oil Paints are completely non-toxic when used as recommended. Most are made with alkali-refined linseed oil as a binder, which creates a strong, flexible paint film and yellows significantly less than cold press linseed oil, the traditional binder in oil paints. Select colors use safflower oil as a binder. Not only are these vegetable oils completely non-toxic, they are commonly used in health and beauty products, so you can trust in their safety.
This set gives painters a thoughtfully constructed palette of luscious oil colors cradled in a primed, ready-to-use, 12" × 6½" painting panel handcrafted in North America from sustainably forested birch. Colors include Cadmium Yellow Light, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian, Ivory Black, and Titanium White in 37 ml (1.25 oz) tubes.

Artists can paint solvent—free with all Gamblin Artist’s Colors by mixing them with Gamblin’s Solvent-Free Gel Medium or with moderate amounts of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil. For cleaning your brushes consider using Gamblin’s Gamsol Solvent, the safest artist’s solvent available. Or, simply wipe away excess paint from the bristles, work in a bit of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil, then follow with water and soap or a brush cleaner.

My favorite affordable paints when purchased in bulk pricing
from Greensboro NC
I use quite a bit of paint. These are great paints at the right price. When I purchase Gamblin I always purchase these paints in the 16 or 32 oz cans. The paint is consistent. Not runny.
Best I've used as an artist & art Workshop & Demo teacher.
from St. Augustine FL
Used with everything I paint, and I have Gamblin on my materials list for my students for teaching, workshops or when I do demo's. I love the consistency, brilliance of color and drying time. I've used other brands before but when I tried Gamblin I was sold on what I was going to use on my painting's from then on.

I will continue to perchase Gamblin Products
from New Lebanon, NY
The colors and consistency of Gamblin Paints are reliable and satisfying. I have made a decision to use Gamblin products, phasing out of other brands for the most part.
Rich Gold excellent!
from Chicago suburb
I am painting on solid board with oil and cold wax. I wanted to add shiny gold, and I find that Gamblin's Rich Gold works better than I expected. A rich gold color plus a good luster. It fits what I needed.
Good color selection

New to oil painting, Gamblin is reasonably priced.
By Niksur the Newbie
from Petaluma, CA
I am new to oil painting. Gamblin & Winton oils were suggested by my teacher. I've tried both and prefer the Gamblin for its consistency and color range. When I get more experienced, I would like to try other brands as well.
The Gamblin Company was born in 1980 in a small garage in Portland, Oregon, where Robert Gamblin spent nine months mixing batch after batch of oil paint by hand. See what inspires Robert Gamblin and understand the integrity and dedication behind what makes some of the finest oil products around.
