Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors are crafted by hand with the well-being of artists, their work, and the environment in mind. True to historic working properties, yet safer and more permanent, they combine the best traditions of the past with the latest technical innovations, giving you the freedom to create without compromise.
Made with the finest grades of pigment available (yes, there are differences), Gamblin Artist's Oils have luscious working properties, and each color possesses unique characteristics in terms of texture, undertone, and tinting strength. The range of colors includes both historically accurate paints and modern, synthetically derived hues. For everything from traditional realism to contemporary abstraction, you'll find your ideal colors within the Gamblin line.
All Gamblin Artist's Oil Paints are completely non-toxic when used as recommended. Most are made with alkali-refined linseed oil as a binder, which creates a strong, flexible paint film and yellows significantly less than cold press linseed oil, the traditional binder in oil paints. Select colors use safflower oil as a binder. Not only are both these vegetable oils completely non-toxic, they are commonly used in health and beauty products, so you can trust in their safety.
Deluxe Oil Painting Set

Artists can paint solvent—free with all Gamblin Artist’s Colors by mixing them with Gamblin’s Solvent-Free Gel Medium or with moderate amounts of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil. For cleaning your brushes consider using Gamblin’s Gamsol Solvent, the safest artist’s solvent available. Or, simply wipe away excess paint from the bristles, work in a bit of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil, then follow with water and soap or a brush cleaner.

Gamblin's Golden Ochre
By EL's Bells
Comments about Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors:
I tried Gamblin's Golden Ochre a couple years ago and got hooked on it. It is a transparent, warm ochre, part synethic color and part iron oxide. Not at all grey and stiff in texture as ochres that I have used in the past. Great for toning a ground, mixing with other colors-- it is my main yellow now (I also use cadmium colors, but I limit my use for them to when I really need an opaque color that pops). I just bought several other colors andwill soon be trying them out. In the past I have been using a good professional oil paint brand, but the prices were getting just a bit out of reach. If the other Gamblin colors are as lovely as the Goldemn Ochre, I will be very pleased.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have been using Gamblin Artist Oil Colors and other products for a few month and I am very satisfied with the results.
I discovered Gamblin Oil Paints in 2014 after a lifetime of using the popular (no longer makes oil paints- acrylic only now) brand. The paint is rich with dense pigment. Aside from the standard pallet pigments, their proprietary colors are both inspirational and utilitarian in the shortcuts they create for desired hues. Plus every Spring one gets to experience the nebulous color Torrit Grey (last year it was very brown, this year very neutral grey). I'm creating 4 to 5 paintings every sixteen weeks, and am churning through these paints at a brisk clip. I am totally happy with Gamblin paints.
Pleased with the performance

Good, professional quality oil paints. Some colors are not as creamy as more expensive or European-made counterparts, but nice to support made in the U.S.A. products.

I am very pleased with Gamblin Oil colors for several reasons. The quality is excellent, the Price is great and since they are created by an artist, I feel much more "understanding" goes into the development of the colors.
