Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors are crafted by hand with the well-being of artists, their work, and the environment in mind. True to historic working properties, yet safer and more permanent, they combine the best traditions of the past with the latest technical innovations, giving you the freedom to create without compromise.
Made with the finest grades of pigment available (yes, there are differences), Gamblin Artist's Oils have luscious working properties, and each color possesses unique characteristics in terms of texture, undertone, and tinting strength. The range of colors includes both historically accurate paints and modern, synthetically derived hues. For everything from traditional realism to contemporary abstraction, you'll find your ideal colors within the Gamblin line.
All Gamblin Artist's Oil Paints are completely non-toxic when used as recommended. Most are made with alkali-refined linseed oil as a binder, which creates a strong, flexible paint film and yellows significantly less than cold press linseed oil, the traditional binder in oil paints. Select colors use safflower oil as a binder. Not only are both these vegetable oils completely non-toxic, they are commonly used in health and beauty products, so you can trust in their safety.

Artists can paint solvent—free with all Gamblin Artist’s Colors by mixing them with Gamblin’s Solvent-Free Gel Medium or with moderate amounts of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil. For cleaning your brushes consider using Gamblin’s Gamsol Solvent, the safest artist’s solvent available. Or, simply wipe away excess paint from the bristles, work in a bit of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil, then follow with water and soap or a brush cleaner.

Comments about Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors:
I very much like the creamy texture of Gamblin paint and have never once been disappointed in the quality. That Gamsol, Gamvar and a solvent free gel medium are complementary to the paint just makes everything better.

The highest quality

I am relatively new to oil painting and was using bits and pieces of tubes of oil paint from friends. As I buy more product, I am going with Gamblin across the board. With this brand, I can depend on consistency, longevity, and a wonderful palette of color.
I would buy this product again and again

I was looking for a specific oil paint color and found it easily. I live in the country and ordering online saved me a two hour trip to the city and back.

I use several Gamblin products. Less toxic than other products. I use gamsol to clean brushes and sever other products as medium to thin the paints.Love the gambling oil paints because of their creamy texture.

Great quality, great price
Love that it's available in large size tubes.
from Patchogue, NY
As an oil painter, I love the idea of mixing my own pigments, and will often use can paint and mix with pigments to make new colors. Gamblin pigments not only mix well, the pigments go well with already prepared paint. The colors are what you expect from such a well established company. The only thing I don't like is that some colors are not available in larger sizes, or larger pigment bottles, and as most artists, I wish they were a little more affordable.

A very "kewl" cool gray
from Naples, Fl.
I have probably tried all brands of oils over the years, but this was a first time purchase of Gamblin Oils. I especially love the Cool Gray and the Warm White I purchased. The Warm White mixes well to lighten colors in the warm family and the Cool Gray has a nice not to light or too dark value. I normally put my colors down on two palettes ...one with warm colors and the other with cool colors. Love the product. I will continue to buy these.
The Gamblin Company was born in 1980 in a small garage in Portland, Oregon, where Robert Gamblin spent nine months mixing batch after batch of oil paint by hand. See what inspires Robert Gamblin and understand the integrity and dedication behind what makes some of the finest oil products around.
